You geting it due many who get social security have their income cut and their children or some there kids children who parents die.
But here is one of the issues that needs to be fix as social security needs to have a means test that will start cutting benefits over 75k single to 100k couple plus 10k per kid up to three and remove all income caps and put a top and a top cap on benefits of 75k so a someone who made millions each year but did not set up retirement which will fix social security  and allow a grave error in social security which is that disabled get zeros in there calculation for no fault of their own and to be paid a sub poverty check that they can barely exist on. 
 So there should also be a minimum income  of at least 100  percent of poverty  for short term disability  to 133% of poverty for long term disabled over 10 years.  And by doing all of this social security would become stable and fair as social security is not a guarantee but insurance against  being poor plus all income and benefits should be based on a cola to keep it fair
