Yesterday, House Republicans passed a budget bill with probably near zero Democrat votes supporting it.

What is really happening in the U.S. House of Representatives?

Lets find a hypothetical analogy. Turn the clock back a couple of decades or so when the U.S. was in the throes of a “cold war” with the Soviet Union. Negotiations are going on re disarmament. The Soviet delegation has put forward the following proposal: If the USA will just destroy all of its nuclear weapons and long range ballistic missiles immediately, the Soviets will follow immediately with their plan for similar disarmaments.

The American reaction would be a reply such as “do you think we are crazy? Do you think we have totally lost our minds?

This might be the response to orator on the floor of the House yesterday. The Georgia Republican representative was declaring that if the Republican bill before the body, all cuts and NO NEW REVENUE were adopted, the time WOULD BE COMING LATER to consider revenue side of deficit reduction. This Republican bill would essentially preserve the status quo of the Pentagon’s cost and severely slash food stamps and all other federal programs to relieve the plight of the poor and cut elderly benefits.

The conclusion of a reasonable observer might be JUST HOW DUMB DO THE REPUBLICANS THINK WE, THE PUBLIC, ARE ??

Many states are now ending the "Emergency" Unemployment Benefits that the Feds have been providing.  Evidently, when the unemployment rates go down a certain percent, these Emergency benefits must stop according to the law -
So at the same time, should we not be seein a slowing in these funds?
Or are peole just dropping out of the workforce?

Many states are now cutting back on their programs or reconfiguring them for these same families and elderly - TANF, MEDICAID programs, CHIP, etc.

Only the dumb would not realize that we have money problems in this country at many levels of government - too many takers and not enough payers.  I don't think that our House of Rep. is doing anything that states aren't also doing in various methods.

.    First of all....Americans are not lazy or we wouldn't have  such an abundant supply of food  and products on the shelves,  highways in repair,  tall buildings to gaze upon and elaborate recreational facilities.      Before we start criticizing the "takers" let's go to basic reasons why there are so many.
In 1925--- $10,000  was  equivalent to a million and a half dollars today.  People earned a lot less in the years leading up to 2012. and their savings do reflect that and is why so many people need SS when they are too old to work.
Another thing we face is that these corporations and their rich who run them actually want to have many unemployed and desperate people who will not salary negotiate and so work cheaper. They get the cream of the crop CHEAP.......why else does the conservative leaders want to get rid of birth control....and overpopulate the land.
The 1% own 28% of the wealth of this country and not by accident.
Republican Speaker John Boehner refused to raise the debt ceiling to secure tax breaks for big oil companies and his billionaire jet-owning friends. It's now clearer than ever that Republicans won't say yes to anything and would rather see our economy fall into catastrophic default than offend Grover Norquist and the Tea Party fringe by asking billionaires to pay their fair share
UnitedHealth Group's
Stephen Hemsley - CEO Compensation Total Compensation: $3,241,042
Aetna's Ron Williams - CEO Compensation  Total Compensation: $24,300,112
CIGNA's H. Edward Hanway - CEO Compensation   Total Compensation: $12,236,740

The above is just ONE GROUP ....just imagine how many other corporations there are and making this money and not paying their taxes !!    You have Romney---hiding money in the Caymens  and companies that made billions off of the two wars like Halliburton leaving for DUBAI  to excape paying taxes.

Now tell me to hate the poor and middle class because they are "takers".   Who are the TAKERS in reality.
