I am 58, can't find a job facing eviction. Can I collect on my late husbands SS now, (survivers benifets) and how would that affect my SS at age 62?

Here is a link to the social security (government) page that will answer your question about receiving a Widow Surviving benefit.Social Security benefit amounts for the surviving spouse by year of birthNow, of course, this is from age 60 -IF you still look after your deceased spouse's children ( under age 16 or 18/19 and still in high school) OR if you are disabled, you can get it younger. |
