Most people think of the Big Island of hawaii as a place to visit, but if you have your S S and a 401. You can not only live here but you have good weather and none of the storms that you have in the 48 states.

Do you do Bed and Breakfast?

Hi folks,
my name is Thomas and I have a website with thousands of bed and breakfast inns from accross America.  Essentially the site, http://Bescover.com connects travelers with innkeepers, as they can go on the site, pick a region, and see the details and prices for inns in that area.  My question to you?  Do you currently patronize bed and breakfast inns?  Have you ever?  If not, would you consider it?

The state is south of the Mason Dixon line - I leave it unnamed as we want people to come visit, we'll provide you a pleasant vacation, then go home.  But please don't come here to live, "furtherers" moving in are ruining it for the locals.

Jed, doesn't sound like you have any confidence in your state or fellow residents.  What are "furtherers"? Yankees to you?

Until the healthcare/Obamacare gets rolling, we're staying put in Massachusetts.  Everyone in this state is required to have health insurance and as an example of costs my son is 27 and pays $30 per month for healthcare and his prescription costs are laughable.    So send the salvos my way, I'm sick, pun intended, of paying so others get healthcare free (in the emergency room).

Central Florida! It is truly beautiful here -- yes, hot for 4 months, but gorgeous for 8!!! Very mild winters (if any)! Gorgeous lakes all over this region -- if you feel the need to be at the ocean, from central Florida, it is 2 hours either way - to the Coast or to the Gulf. Not much flooding or evacuations (due to hurricanes) here in the central part of the state. It is a wonderful place to live in retirement. Rents are so much more reasonable than where I lived when I retired: in Maryland, halfway between Washington DC and Baltimore. VERY reasonable cost of living here in comparison. ALSO: NO STATE INCOME TAX!!!!!!  Cool

North Carolina coastal. Not too cold-not too hot-just right. The beach is a plus coastal but mountains are available too. Housing is reasonable-new about same proce as resale properties. NC has the best hospitals, higher ed schools, and raesonable tax structure.

I moved from Upstate NY in 2007 to Dallas, Texas.   I left NY because it was soooooo cold.  Well, Texas is oooh sooo hot.  What was I thinking???? I definitely l miss the NY Culture; though I have come to appreciate the sweetness of the Midwest.  Good Grief, we are still called Yankees!  Oh Please.  lol    I would return to Upstate NY to live my life.  It has beautiful summers, Culture and I will deal with the winters.  As long as I have a garage for my car, I will be fine.

Life's an adverture and am glad for the journey.  :)

Colorado - We enjoy the sunshine here year round, with four distinct seasons, the mountains nearby, and of course, family and friends.

New Mexico.  Las Cruces was named one of the best places to retire on $100 a day by the AARP.  And it's a "hop, skip and a jump away" from my town.  It's not always about watching the seasons change.  It's about survival.  Financial survival.  New Mexico.  Cruces.  Period.
