No permanent address, what to do?

I would like to inquire if someone could provide me with some guidance and/or assistance.  The following is my situation and dilemma:

-  I am taking an early retirement the end of June 2012. I’ll be over 59 ½, but do not plan to draw on my investments until at least January 2013. Hopefully longer.

- Currently my wife and I rent in Massachusetts.

- We will be putting all our possessions in storage in Mass.

- July 1st we are heading off for a 5 or 6 month venture around the U.S.

- We own a house in Maine, which has been rented out for the last 6 years and have no intentions of moving back there.

- I draw a retired military pension.

My questions:

- Can I get a post office box in any state to establish a residency in that state? For example, because New Hampshire is a state that does not tax military pensions, can I get a P.O. Box and claim residency?

- Or, can I get a P.O. Box for mail but claim my daughter’s address (who lives in NH)?

- Tennessee and Pennsylvania are also states who are friendly to military pensions.

I guess the meat of my question is, when I put my stuff in storage what can I do for a residence?

Greatly appreciate any advice.
