I agree, why retire to Belize? It is poverty stiken and the people are desperately poor. But if you want to retire overseas then there are some great Central American counties with modern infrastecture and economies but they still have a much lower cost of living. Not only that but some have great retirement benefit schemes such as the "Pensionado Scheme" in Panama. The moden living standards and strong Panama economy all make for first world living standards. So don't be put off by 2 weeks in one country, you were just unlucky and picked the wrong one, there are plenty to choose from and they all have their pros and cons but I guess you know which one I decided on? |
