In Response to Too old for the job: Caucasian-Over 40 - No college degree - 30 years of Sales / Customer Service I have had several interviews for jobs that I am over qualified for but I don't get the job. Employers always seem to select younger and college educated with little or no experience. Maybe I should try to color my hair and see what happens. Posted by dlness32 . I got hired as a Quality Inspector with benefits in a meat packing facility. The workforce is 95% Hispanic and they do their job and don't complain even when working 7 days a week. They have the jobs because the younger Americans think the work is beneath them. Everyone wants a job with a title. There are jobs available if people would get their hands dirty. I have no sympathy for someone who says they can't find a job due to being too selective. People should get off their butts or learn Spanish.

Posted by dlness32 Same happens to me ,I have the right qualifications , 30 years of experience on retail sales ,customer service ,management in retail...I feel it is discrimination, they want younger people,I went to different places and I see College students working on those places .I am totally surprised !When I send the resumes and they ask the year I born ....suddenly the job is not longer available ..... |
