If you earned your Social Security Beneifts working at jobs where social security contributions were deducted from your pay
AND you also earned a retirement pension working in pubic service jobs (teachers, policemen, firemen, . . .), the
Government Pension Offset (GPO) and Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) will reduce your social security payments.
You only will receive 55% of the social security benefits you earned.  Example: Your monthly, social security benefit
is determined to be $700 per month if you retire at the age of 66.  Due to the GPO and WEP, you would only receive $385.00.  In annual terms, instead of receiving $8,400 in benefits, you would receive $4,620 annually.

S.2010/H.R.1332 will repeal the GPO and WEP.  170 Congressmen support the Social Security Fairness Act.
The ACT was introducted by Senator John Kerry.  Contact your U.S. Representatives and U.S. Senators to support
the ACT and to vote for it.  At last call, the ACT was "stuck" in committee.

When Americans follow the rules and meet the requirements for receiving benefits by pay into their Social Security,
Account, they should receive 100% of the benfits they earned.  Support the repeal by calling/emailing your support for passage of the Social Security Fairness Act (S.2010/H.R.1332).
