Hi, I have tried from time to time to start forums for single senior travelers to get to know one another. Many people said thay wanted that. I went and found forum space and built a place for members to come in and post and get to know one another. To no avail. I was in there every day and not many ever posted. So it defeated the purpose when no one shows up.
I have another cruise related forum. We have been together for many years now and most us have  met one another. We are all good friends. Most are not single but I am. I enjoy going to that forum every day to socialize with them. We have met from time to time for dinners around Florida. Lots of fun and a great group of people there. You would be welcome there.  Message me for info.

You should try Elder Hostel....it is now called Road Scholar.  I have done two by myself.  A few women on these trips met each other on one of the trips and continued to travel together.

Have you explored the Single Travelers group here at AARP?  I joined that group here in the community earlier this year.  That discussion & contact led to me meeting a small group of people that decided to meet up in Las Vegas in October.  One of the people in the group & I went on to see Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Bryce & Zion National Parks.  I believe they are trying to get a group together now interested in going to New Orleans in 2012.  Check out that group.  Good Luck meeting new friends & maybe a few fellow travelers.  Smile

I've traveled w/Overseas Adventure Travel many times.  It's for older people (50  to 80+).  They will find a roommate for you or you may choose to room alone.  They are very reasonable.  All you do is show up and they take care of everything e.g., meals, transportation, exploring.  I've been to Peru, China and Tibet, Russia w/them.

Don't know about the Single Travelers group at AARP.  I am turning 60 this winter, am widowed, and live in a small rural midwestern town.  Finding travel companions would be great!  What info and tips can you supply?  Opportunities for singles my age to meet and get together are almost non-existent!

In Response to Single Senior Travel : I know that many single women over 50 love to travel but don't like to travel alone. I offer a companion travel service (not a care-giver or tour guide) for just such people. Visit my website at http://www/travelwithapal.info for information and rates. You don't have to go it alone!
