We would like to make you aware of a questionable practice by a large downtown Boston based travel company that specialize in  tours for seniors. 

While booking our recent trip to China the sales representative recommended that we book our flights through them instead of self booking, the airfare will be identical, our selected flight numbers will remain the same, but we'll have the advantage of paying through a single bill. The travel agent took our Sky miles account numbers and booked our flights. At the time of purchase, time of down payment, or at time of final payment, company never disclosed that they are about to re-book our flight with Delta airlines based on group rates instead of published rates.

Upon returning home we were informed by Delta airlines that GCT while charging us the full published airfare of $2640.00 they booked our flight at a group rate of under $1780.00. To obtain the low price GCT surrendered 24000 of our Sky miles without our knowledge or approval to Delta airline.

By not disclosing this fraudulent ticket switch practice the travel company overcharged us by $860 and we lost a total of 24000 air miles. While we were robbed, the Boston based travel company is making out like bandits by having tax free income from us and 110000 other yearly customers.

Lesson, make sure you get what you pay for in writing before paying for your trip.
