I retired to Puerto Rico from Alaska about 2 years ago and have a travel Blog dedicated to my experiences.

It is features photographs taken all over the island.  If you find yourself stuck in San Juan for more than a day, then you should check it out.  The site is full of side-trip ideas and 'out-of-the-way' places to visit.  The Dog's Blog covers everything, but spas and golfing.  Those are things you can find on other sites.  Lots of useable maps too!

I will be happy to answer any of your specific questions about PR, but please check out my personal Blog first.  The Dog's Blog covers a lot of subjects regarding Puerto Rico travel, cost-of-living issues, the island's history, local culture and lots, lots more.

I only come to the AARP site a couple times a month, if then.
