The food-try the Gumbo Sh[o, Café Du Monde and Ralph & Kacoo's.  City Tour.  Mardi Gras World.  Spend time walking in the French Quarter.  All sorts of history, culture and architecture. The Cathedral is marvelous.

One of my favorite places to visit is the Cafe Du Monde in the French Quarter.  The beignets are made and served fresh and are so delicious.  Jackson Square is loaded with history and the Garden District (take a ride on the streetcars) have some of the most beautiful homes.  Be hungry for breakfast at Brennan's.  You won't want to eat the rest of the day.

New Orleans has something for every age!  Ride the streetcar from Canal down St.Charles and stop at Camillia Grill or drive along the boulvard from N.O. University to the many eating places ( fabulous seafood) and watch the Sailboats on Lake Ponchatrain.  Downtown, walk along the River Front and listen to the ole timers play Jazz., have lunch at Court of Two Sisters......what a treat!!  For breadfast, try Brennan's & a must, Bananas Foster!!  The aquarium is very special.  Be sure to have Beinets & Cafe O'lay at Cafe DuMonde.  And the beat, the NEW ORLEANS SOUND, goes on night & day.  ENJOY!!

It is great city, historic, fun and relaxing. I lived there almost 20 years and moved out due to Job in 1997.
Best Places are river front "River Walk", Moon Walk, Jackson Squares, Cafe Domonde, St. Louis Cathedral ( go inside and sit down in the Chapel alone, close eyes and feel the divine spirit's presence;
Flle market, good restaurants, and at night French Quarter - enjoy jazz music and festivities, Pat O'brien, etc.
Sreet Car Ride from down town to  Garden District ( Daytime) on St. Charles Avenue; Casinos,
River Boat Ride and Cruise in Misssissippi Avenue; Ferry to West Bank and See "Mardi Gras Floats " an denjoy thr Boat ride,
Should I go on ...... are you tired !!!
Relax and see many more - Superdome tour, may be conevtion Halls and lucky you may see some parade as long as you do not drink too much and stay sober !!!!

Going to the New Orleans Jazz Fest allows you an opportunity to get a taste of everything New Orleans has to offer in one place...food, drinks, people, music, art, different cultures....I love it!
