Need help with vacation ideas for last-minute travel

Instead of taking a week-long vacation, my husband and I are looking forward to taking a few longs weekends away. With a limited amount of time (from Virginia) we'd like to minimize travel time and maximize vacation time. Have thought about Puerto Rico for its proximity but I'm not a huge fan of resorts, would prefer to be a little off the beaten path, but would consider if it was a more active vacation. Another destination I've thought of is Key West (or even Miami) but I have no idea what places to consider. |
