IIn St. Barts, found it akward, especially when we went to sit at the bar, ewwww! n Response to Have you ever been to a Nude Beach?: Have you ever been to a nude beach? I went to one in Maui, Hawaii, but never here on the East Coast. It ended up not being that big a deal after all. This may sound weird, but I think I'd only go to one where I or my friends didn't know anyone ... rather than say, a naturist colony or beach. Guess I still have some hangups I need to work on. :-) Posted by swimfanlane6 |

In Response to Re: Have you ever been to a Nude Beach?: There is a nudist resort near Clearwater, FL. Don't remember the name of it, but its 'something?" Como. Posted by Ladyrebel22 I know a place in Tampa just accross Tampa Bay called Paradise Lakes. Perhaps that;s the one you mean. I used to be a journalist, and was there on 2 seperate occasions doing stories. There is much more to it than meets the eye. Again, I stress that I too find a certain amount of enjoyment and exilleration from being nude, feeling the sun, wind, etc, on my naked body; going skinny dipping and feeling totally free in the water, etc. But, and that's a BIG BUT, there are many ulterior motives at play at these nude venues. And, I saw a number of "questionable" incidents at Pardise Lakes. For instance...when my wife and I (we worked together as freelance jounalists/writers and did books to) arrived, we parked our rental car in a guest spot just accross from some of some condos withing the community. At a big picture window facing us, there was a man watching, nude, masturbating, and, I assume trying to entice us for some reason. That's just one incident.

The best reason for going is to enjoy the water without a clammy, clingy swimsuit hanging on you. Whatever water activity you enjoy - swimming, floating, wading, snorkeling, you name it – I can tell you that it’s so much more enjoyable without any form of clothing. The experience of swimming without a swimsuit is so freeing, so relaxing, and so natural. And then coming out of the water free of any wet, binding, dripping clothing weighing you down and letting the sun and breeze dry you naturally is so amazing. No, it’s not at all about seeing and being seen. We all look basically the same anyway. It’s the freedom. Simple as that. Don’t believe me? Experience is the best teacher, so try it for yourself and then decide. Best wishes. |

In Response to Have you ever been to a Nude Beach?: Have you ever been to a nude beach? Posted by swimfanlane6 I've been to South Padre Island in Texas, Black's Beach in California, Rooster Rock in Oregon, Sauvies Island Nude Beach in Orgeon, Hippie Hollow also in Texas, Haulover in Florida, and the nude beach at Club Orient in St. Martin. Haulover is the best so far followed by Club Orient. Nude beaches are an excellent place to enjoy the sun and water in a freeing body experience. I've been enjoying them and nudist resorts for over 45 years. Unfortunately there are very few legal nude beaches in the U.S. today. Most are just tolerated by authorities and are not legal at all with the exception of Hippie Hollow, Haulover, and Gunnison Beach in New Jersey. |
