Yes, I've been to a number of nude resorts and am a member of AANR (American Association for Nude Recreation). Like several others who posted, I'm constantly amazed at how hung up American are about nudity. It's not all about sex, but freedom and comfort. Walking around outside without clothes feeling the sun and the breezes all over your body is amazing and there is no comparison between skinny dipping and wearing a bathing suit. Plus whether you are young or old, skinny or fat, you will be accepted by other nudists for who you are, not how you look, and no tan lines. It doesn't get any better than that. |

No, I have never been to a nude beach. Have nothing against them though. I will say that my parents could not have prepped me enough to go to a nude beach at 17. Also in the 70's i was raising my children to repsect their elders and mind their manners. They have done the same with my grandchildren. I believe we do as good a job as the French in raising our children. |

I agree with the original questioner, to a point. Yes, it is very comfortable to be totally nude and feel the sun on one's entire body. The same goes for the water when going into the pool or sea. I've always liked the feeling of skinny dipping. It really is great fun. It also affords one the extra edge in trying to determine up front, the sophistication of people one is just meeting for the first time. But there is another element for most that go to these places...in America, at least, that is. The ones I've been to in America all seem to have much more of an undertone of sexuality, and one feels that there is a lot of "pervs" there for the sake of obtaining sex. This is much less so in Europe and the Caribbean. I've even seen sexual acts being performed on these beaches. So, yes, the freedom of being unrestricted by clothing is very nice but there is much more to it no matter how altruistic the proponents would have one think.

I went to the French side of St. Maarten in the french West Indie's and clothing was optional while on a cruise. It was invorgating to go swimming in the nude. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their freedom of being nude. |

Yes .. often. We enjoy the experience and relaxation. We had our honeymoon in St Martin and plan a nudist cruise when my wife retires next year. It's truly one of those "anticipation was greater than the event". |

In 1984 my husband and I went to Jamaica for our 20th Anniversary, At the time all of the beaches there were nude beaches - I'm not sure this is still the case. When we returned home we joined AANR and have been members ever since then. We have belonged to and visited many, many nudist resorts. We have never seen any sexual activity at any of the resorts! On AANR affiliated properties everyone is expected to be nude. Those who come to gawk are soon 'exposed' and are escourted off the property. Children at Resorts have many, many sets of eyes watching over them. Again, anyone acting in an inappropriate manner is quickly shown the door. At a nudist resort people talk to each other looking into each others eyes. The friends that we have made in the nudist community are like family to us. This lifestyle - and it is a lifestyle not a pasttime or hobby - is not for everyone but we feel blessed to be active social nudists. We are not stupid. We 'dress' for the weather and social situations but look forward to being clothes free whenever possible and acceptable. |
