My friend and I want to go this coming spring and as I've never done a European River cruise I'm gathering information.  Thanks!

I am an eight time traveler with Grand Circle. Along with some of the above posts, I too am unwilling to pay a "single supplement", however Grand Circle has a "matching" service whch pairs a single traveler with another with similar interests. Were Io request that service and another person could not be found, I would not be charged the "single supplement." Whether you choose a land tour or river cruise, all of Grand Circle's trips are designed to keep the traveler on the go. Neither myself or anybody I know from these adventures spends much time in their room be it in a hotel or a cabin on a ship. Even when I travel with a friend, the rule up front always includes doing my own thing. I am a turtle among hares and quite used to spending alone time or bringing up the rear on walkabouts, and as a member of the GCT family, that's okay.  So what are you waiting for. Get up and go. GC riverboats are the greatest.

Anybody out here who's taken an Italian guided tour?   Looking for a recommended travel agent/company and any tips you might have to offer.   My cousin and I are wanting to take a tour to Rome, Venice and Florence.  There are so many travel companies out there and we don't have a clue who's good and who might not be.   So, if anybody had any info, I'd love to hear from you.  Peggy

A very generous couple who took that cruise, showed their movies of it, at a senior citizen get together at the Florissant Valley Community College.  It was indeed marvelous, I loved the cruise and wish I could afford to do it myself, too.  I have an oil painting of one of the castles along the Rhine.  Carolyn

I have never done a river cruise but it appeals more than the traditional cruise on an 'office block' of a ship. My wife and I really miss the Easycruise concept having done two cruises with them, one in the Caribbean and the other around the Greek Islands. One of the good things here, apart from the costs, was the fact that you did not have to be on the ship for dinner every evening and as long as you were back on board by about 2.00am prior to the ship departing that was fine. Why don't we have some more like this?

Uniworld River Cruises waives the single supplement on many of their cruises.  I have taken 2 cruises with them travelling solo.

A few of Viking Cruise Line boats have "single" cabins.  Look for the CS designation.

Just when I thought I would take a cruise this terrible accident happens.  I looked at my hubby and said there you go another accident.  So now never going on a cruise they are unsafe.

Going on a European river cruise is definitely on my list of things to do.  Although I have travelled alone, it is niceto have company and not have to pay the extra expense.  Maybe we should talk.
