Hi John, You'll find lots of great options in SW VA especially if you enjoy hiking, music, art, delicious food and wine. A couple of great resources are www.blueridgeparkway.org, www.virginia.org and www.visitroanoke.org. I recommend Woodberry Inn, Restaurant and Bar (www.woodberryinn.com) for cozy, comfortable accommodations, delicious food and local wines in an idyllic setting just yards off the parkway near MP 174 in Meadows of Dan, VA. The area is rich in history and culture. Be sure to visit the Jacksonville Center for the Arts in the town of Floyd, which also has a reputation for great music. The Friday night concerts and street music jams in downtown Floyd are a must. Enjoy! |

There seems to be lots to see and do. I mosty likely will have to make a second trip and will consider this one a two week exporitory one. john |
