Just wanted to warn everyone about Spirit airlines. We recently used them for a flight from Detroit to Las Vegas. They canceled the flight a half hour before take off was scheduled.

Which airline not to use

Just wanted to warn everyone about Spirit airlines. We recently used them for a flight from Detroit to Las Vegas. They canceled the flight a half hour before take off was scheduled. They got us a flight out the next day but it was with a different airline, which cost us more money because of seat fees and baggage fees. Spirit refuses to reimburse is for the seat fees or offer any type of compensation for the inconvenience that they caused. Their customer service is horrible, whether on the phone or in person. BEWARE!!! |

Great report; not able to comment on Spirit but do know will not fly any other airline (in US) other than SWA. United and Delta are just rude, from CSAs to Flight Attendants, in my experience. They (the pre-deregulation airlines) seem to think they STILL own the air - think "The Aviator" Juan; ha! I bought a new car so as not to have to fly to NOLA! I'd rather pay for a car payment for a new car then a seat on your rude, non-truthful, arrogant airlines. Driving and picking up passengers on the way! (so that's 4 seats you lose !)

We travel quite a bit and every .....and I do mean every flight we have had on Delta there has been type of ordeal to contend with...be it a problem with the plane causing us to miss our connecting flights, psychotic flight attendants with crappy attitudes to 230 of us on this flight being stuck in Atlanta at 1:30am after boarding us then telling us to get off....putting us on another plane and being told to get off again and given no information from any Delta employee of why the planes were not ready...what our options were...NOTHING!!! .No one from Delta came to talk to us until around 4:00am then said in a tone like she was mad at us for being there we would have to re-book flights but they would all be stand-by status!!! We finally got a flight on US Airways that got us to Des Moines Iowa where we had to rent a car and drive home to Omaha....After playing mail and e-mail games with Delta they gave us $800.00 in vouchers and reimbursed the money for the rental car.......We try as much as possible to avoid flying Delta but there are times it just can't be dodged. |
