In Response to Re: Good Android Phone App To Share - Add Yours Here: In Response to Re: Good Android Phone App To Share - Add Yours Here : I completely disagree about the battery. I switched from a Blackberry to an Android and it's horrible. I'm lucky to get 3 hours of standby time on thisd phone before the battery is completely drained. I've had it back to the store and re-configured to turn as many of the background programs off as possible (and still be functional) and it is still a problem. I want this thing to simply work as a phone and handle work/personal email and texts. Everything else is just fun and games and virtually worthless from a business perspective. These phones are definitely not an improvement. The media is so impressed with the functionality and app's but it's all pretty worthless if the thing goes dead every few hours. I don't sit in my office all day and the phone doesn't help much if it's on a charger and I'm on the move. I cannot believe they are not able to resolve this. I've heard the i-phone is much better so I guess that's my next move, but I'm skeptical. Posted by GaryG59 You're right about the battery life of many Android phones. Some are worthless. A class action suit is probably appropriate. You may want to go online and search for an extended battery for your phone. Sometimes a larger back cover is necessary which comes with the battery. I did this for my LG Connect and went from 3 hours to 8 hours without turning any applications off. Good luck.

It is the specific phone you have that is the problem. Some phones have good battery liffe, others do not. I have an HTC Android phone, and it can last two days between battrery charges, depending on my uage. Even with heavy usage, I have never run the battery down. I typically charge the phone every night by my bedsid, but on days when I don't use the phone much, I don't need to charge it at night. So while you have a legitimate complaint, it is with the particular phone you have, and is not due to the fact that it runs the Android OS. |

With Vonage app one can called any US and Canadian phone number for free from anywhere in the world as described in my original post. It is text message that has to be between Vonage members. |
