with this outfit over two years through AARP. I supplied my own phone and they waived the activation fee. I paid them monthly and was told it was for the upcoming month when I started. I have went to a different carrier who allows me to use my own smartphone and receive all services, talk, tex, web, sms, and mms. Consummer wouldn't let me with my smartphone was told not compatible. Now that I have left their service for over thirty days they are billing me for September which I'm not going to pay.
I would like the AARP membership to be aware of this just in case you come up with the same problem. If you thought you were in a pre paid plan you're not at least that's what they are telling me now.
