I think that is pretty tough to do now that I'm in my Autumn Season! Any thoughts friends?

It's always a risk, but I prefer the risk to no relationship at all.

You have to put your hurt past behind you and look ahead be it alone or with another love.

There is no other way that we can love, is there? We have all had hurts our entire lives, but if we make that a reason to quit, then the other person has way too much power over us.

I find wisdom in it - especially when I can see that much of my "hurts" were from my failure to include "loving myself" rather than expecting others to "love me" until "I" felt OK.   I had a lot of confusion on this one for years, but know now that much of it stemmed from my hoping another person would make me feel better about myself.  It is an inside job - and accepting that - well, accepting other's imperfections as well as my own has made ALL the difference in my ability to love!  And it doesn't hurt to tell myself that "the reason I can't get blood from a stone is not because the stone doesn't want to give blood, but because stones do not have blood to give" when I find I am trying to depend on what just isn't there for, no matter how hard I try to look for it.

I love this analogy -"the reason I can't get blood from a stone is not because the stone doesn't want to give blood, but because stones do not have blood to give"
It only took me about 40 yeas to learn this.

Well those of us who have loved and lost  know better now than those of us just getting started, That saying is a good one to encourage us to never stop trying, even though we have been hurt,I married for love and after 7 yrars was told it was time to move on, so just be cautious and never stop trying, you will meet your true one.

Don't let the hurt of a past relationship keep you from enjoying a new one.  Every new person has good and a little bad to offer but don't blame them for the last person that caused the "hurt".....keep those romantic dreams....and believe there is someone out there for you......"there is a lid for every pot"

Generally, my attitude is "proceed with caution".   I still hold out hope for that one true love, however, I have made a life for myself that I am quite content with.  Work on yourself, be content and happy, and if it is meant to be you will meet the one that adds to your happiness and contentment. When you are your best self it shows and just may draw similar people into your life.

Love is a CHOICE; not a FEELING!   Treat others in the Spirit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control and you will receive the same.
