In Response to Where do you meet new men?:
I've tried the 12 items or less line at the grocery store.  I've tried online dating with no luck.  I've gone to single's dances, joined online meetup groups, kareoke, gone to the local recreation center, etc. I really don't know where to meet new men.  The singles dances have changed.  They're all clicks and social groups that won't let let you even sit at their table or even talk to you.  The guys in the group won't ask you to dance because they're afraid the women in the group will get mad.  I work part time and would like to have a social life. Maybe, some input from other singles would help me.  I enjoy almost everything and would love to meet some new men. Thanks, Lori

I would hope that you would find good and nice men around here.  Same place where I hope to find that nice Lady also.  This is a good place to start.  Good and nice people around here.  I havn't been around for awhile.  I would like to start coming back again and hope to startup some good chat and hope to connect with that special person.  Hope every one had a nice Thanksgiving.

I also did the single dances in the past.  Like Catholic Singles many years ago.
There were other single dancers that I don't recall there names.  Had fun dacing and met some friends on and off.
Good time etc.  There must be some newspapers out there that show some ads for singles.  There were these afterhour
groups that I did attend.  They were okay.  Snacks wine beer soda etc.

Have you tried those single danding places but going with another  girl, and better yet, with a guy friend and you two girls, so that you can both dance with the guy you bring, and that way you look unattached?
Better if the guy is good looking.
Also, I have heard that eharmony is pretty good, Yes, those online services do cost money but they do present with serious individuals that really want to date.
I realize that there are ladies here that don't want a relationship, but for all the ladies that are seeking relationships, yes there are some good places.
Take a course for adults. in which yuou would be able to find new acquantances. like a computer course.
Don't feel that you are only going to go to those places and find anyone in particular, but it will keep you active

I am wondering because its been quite sometime since i have met  a new person being i was married for a long time but am now divorced and seeking new friends in the Poconos,Pa. & Concord,NC. i like having fun and laughing and seeing others enjoy themselves as well and also like taking long drives and sharing conversations and learning about others and i also love going to Concord,NC because its nice down there and different from up here. So am wondering where can i meet someone that likes doing these things too?? plus if im doing this wrong that will give me some good advise.

I am not looking for a relationship but meet people for friendship.  One of my girlfriends has a classic car and goes to events and cruises every weekend.  It was a good place for her to meet men.  She is now happily spending a lot of time with one of them.  I meet a lot of people and have female and male friends to spend time with.  I meet people at Rec and Ed classes. I have been in recovery for 21 years and meet a lot of people through recovery activities.  I know that might seem a little crazy but people with a lot of recovery time are a lot of fun.

Wish I Knew!  I WOULD SHOUT IT TO THE TOP OF MY LUNGS!  Laughing  I live in Georgia, and would love to just meet someone to hang out with if nothing else. I would like to try the online dating. However, I am very skeptical about posting my picture!  Unfortunately, that appears to be the only way to get a response, anywhere!  SnarkyBoomer, I will try your ideas. I am even going to join a sports league. I like bowling, playing cards, football, and tennis.  Maybe that will work.  Wish me luck!

In response to "Re: Where do you meet new men?":
Thanks for your reply.  Now I don't feel so alone.  Some suggestions have been to go to the Home Depot to meet new men.  I hate Home Depot.  I'd rather go to the Mall.  Men over 50 aren't interested in dating or women.  I guess that leaves the young guys. Men over 50 are set in their ways.  The ones online act like they're doing you a favor by taking you out.  They know your age, so you're at a disadvantage. Guys our age are looking for 30 year olds.  It's better to meet a man when neither of you are looking, like at a class or event.  The men at the dances don't date.  They just go to the dances.  Don't know why.  Some don't even dance.  If you do have a guy that's interested, he expects to meet you there every week, so he doesn't have to pay to take you out.  Most of the guys I've dated have been younger so.................I guess that's our only alternative.  They treat you better than the older guys. Thanks again for your reply.  Lori In Response to Re: Where do you meet new men? :

I so agree that it is hard to meet men over 50. I have tried various classes and " senior" groups, but they are filled with women (who much of the time are bitter, "act" old, and act like they know everything!). I just moved to a new city in Washington and would like to make some new friends and some men to share symphonies, travel and opera with. No luck yet!
