So, You finally started dating again, after the loss of a mate, by divorce, or by death. You were alone for a long time, but, are happy to have some companionship again. Then, your grown children discover you have a companion, and their reaction is not at all what you expected. They are afraid someone will take advantage of you, or take all your money, or mistreat you, or who knows what! How do you deal with this problem? Do you just tell them to mind their own business or are you glad they care about your well being?

Did you imagine you would have to have your children's permission to go out on a date? How strange is that?

Tell us what your experience has been as you begin dating again.

My advice would be to not tell your children until you truly believe the relationship will be heading somewhere serious. When the time is right, you can introduce them to your new significant other.
