This morning our daughter called, and invited us to spend some
time with her and our great grandaughter at the river, she wanted to make it a special day for her.
So paw-paw and I met them at the river where we spent our day, skipping rocks across the water, wading and sitting in the water, and finding all sorts of treasures on the rocky sand bar , GG, thats me, had to walk back to the truck to get a bag to put them in....

Our great grandaughter loved it, and there were lots of smiles and laughter from all of us, even when paw-paw had to carry her, because the sand was too hot !

Hi Jen:
You have a beautiful great granddaughter. I am glad you had fun with her during your Day at the River. The quality of the photos is great in this site.  Unfortunately not many of the members are using it. I belong to many groups in the regular AARP Community Groups, but from time to time I visit here.  Have a wonderful weekend.  Sara

Thanks Sara, It was a great day.
Since this discussion board is new, it may take a while for others to find it.
I just thought I could "break the ice", and maybe others would post.

Hi Jen. Or should I say GG Jen. What a nice way to spend the day.  Paw paw had to carry her because the sand was to hot.  How sweet.  Hope you had some shoes on since he did not carry you.
My 6 yr. old great grandson "Seth" fell off the couch and broke his arm. This happened Wednesday. I had his 8 yr. old brother "Cameron" stay with me for 4 days and nights. They like to wrestle a lot and we were afraid Cameron would hurt Seth's arm.    All seven of my great grand children call me gg -Flo.  (gg is for great grandma.) Of which I am sure you know.  Hope to see you in BIngo tonight 7/24/12. My PC was broke down and had it worked on. Has been hard to find the BIngo and other things since I got it back.  Here's hoping I find Bingo.  Flo

Thanks for commenting Flo, we haven't gone to the river this summer, what with the draught and extreme temps, theres very little water, it's mostly sandbar now, we didn't have our usual amount of spring rains, and no rain to speak of since, all around the area, the water level has dropped in lakes and rivers, and most of the creeks have dried up..We sure could use an ol fashioned frog stangler of a rain !
