My Step Son (my husband's son) passed on about 2 1/2 years ago. My daughter-in-law has had a new boyfriend for about 6 months now. We've only met him twice, but seems like a nice guy.

My Step Son (my husband's son) passed on about 2 1/2 years ago. My daughter-in-law has had a new boyfriend for about 6 months now. We've only met him twice, but seems like a nice guy. My husband and I have accepted that she must move on and we are OK with her dating. We are thinking about a gift certificate for dinner as a Christmas present. My question is - should we address it to just the daughter-in-law, or to both of them? Feels kind of weird addressing to both of them considering we do not know him real well, but we don't want to totally exclude him from Christmas. We have never been particularly close with her, but now keep in contact with her for her 2 children (our Grandchildren), a boy, 7 and a girl, 3. He seems really good with the kids, too. Any suggestions?? |
