|That's such a tough situation-and one I think many parents can relate to. And, I know it breaks your heart not to have a contact with your child-no matter what their age. But, I would encourage you not to give up hope on rebuilding your relationship with your daughter. I think the fact that she occasionally answers your emails may be a sign that's she also not ready to let go of you and your husband. So, keep letting her know you're there and want to work on any of the issues your family might have. Perhaps even suggesting you all meet with a counselor to work through her frustrations? Not sure if she would be willing to do that or not, but just a thought. One last suggestion, in my time at Focus on the Family I've come across an article at http://bit.ly/IvI6OF that I think relates to your situation. Maybe it will give you some ideas on how to talk with your daughter? I've also heard the book, Becoming a Family that Heals by Dr. Beverly and Dr. Tom Rodgers is a good resource for working through some of these type of issues. Well, I really hope things turn around for your family!|
