In Response to Wandering concerns:
My husband has dementia due to a brain injury. He is physically fit, but unable to remember or make plans or problem solve. He will unexpectedly leave the house and walk- often far. This happens with no predictability, sometimes in morning or night. Last night I found him on a major roadway at 4:30 AM, shoeless and shirtless in the rain. We have put warning bells on the outside doors, and he has several tracking devices he wears. Any other ideas or solutions are most welcome.

Wandering , especially on a highway, is so dangerous, and you are right to be seriously concerned. If you already are using tracking devices, and have locks on the doors to prevent his night time wandering, you should also contact your local authorities, to alert them of the problem, and give them information on where to return him.
There is some more information here, that may be helpful as well:
