The link didn't work, but I had read the original article. Any combination of the things mentioned would work, because SS is not the real problem. When SS was started there were many workers supporting each benficiary. Now there are ~2.5. The average lifespan was also considerably less. Many never collected. Raisjng the full retirement age to 70, but permitting people to collect at 62 would help. Raising the cap on wages so that the same percentage that originally were taxed would also be good. Most importantly, end the payroll tax holiday and collect the full amount of SS withholding from paychecks.
