""Let me suggest that the President spend a little more time trying to do something about the spending, debt, and gas prices, and a little less time trying to spin the unpopular things he's already done—it might require a little more work, but it's what we need." (Sen. Mitch McConnell, 5/22/12)" http://www.republican.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/blog?ID=37c7185c-5695-450f-9005-cf9cc1fe9cb2 We have financial problems and there is concern about Medicare, but here goes our President wasting money on a bankrupting program which will hopefully be declared unconstitutional. |

IJim, He'll do anything to get re-elected. He needs one more term to destroy our economy, which is his goal. Anyone can plainly see that he is planting the seeds of destruction. His "stimulus" plan in which $1 trillion dollars was awarded to state (union) workers did nothing to help the economy. The billions being wasted on clean energy projects, which are dead in the water is another waste. The "Afffordable Care Act" is costing us billions. His war against fossil fuels and his stand against the Keystone XL pipeline is costing millions of jobs. We could be a net exporter of energy rather than importing it from countries that hate us. One contrast that sticks in my mind is his returning the bust of Winston Churchill to Britain, while bowing to the Saudi king. Hopefully he will have a new job soon. |

In Response to Re: Do you want your tax dollars spent this way - Obamacare ads $20 Million: Obama has what is called diplomacy with the Russians he didn't say YES or No.....unlike Bush & Rice who insulted everyone. Get a clue. While telling their diehards they're repealing Obamacare in full, they're misleading the public and telling them they can keep the provisions that protect them from insurance company abuses. Many of the Obamacare provisions the Republicans say they'd like to keep are ones that are already in effect. Posted by JANMB Sorry but it is not diplomacy to promise something with a country that consistently votes against us in the UN. Did not aggree with all of what Bush did, but his reference to the 3 axes of evil seems to be on target and Russia seems to want a different relationship. Some of our neighbors in the world need to be insulted such as Pakistan. We better wake up about China, and becareful in our relationship with Russia. You do not need Obamacare to handle insurance issues, in fact Obamacare is dangerous to all of us. Medicare will be negatively affected and their is not the money to support what Obamacare demands. I do not want to be forced to fund Obama's abortion policies and other items he may want to dictate. |

Posted by JimR45 Again I see/hear talking points straight from a source that has proven it's unreliability and total lack of knowledge. For some reason the uninformed have now chosen to see Russia as our "arch enemy". I see many more threats to our country from rabid views such as these. Beginning to wonder how uninformed the Republican candidate is on foreign affairs since he seems to be your source of information or should I mention the 17 Bush/Cheney advisors who are on Mr. Romney's staff? Would you rather go back to bloody and unnecessary wars that almost bankrupted our country or forward to trying for a world united against terrorism of any kind from any source? Since you are worried about Medicare, have your read closely Mr. Ryan's budget (which Mr. Romney has called marvelous)? I see more of a threat from this than any thing President Obama has put forward. Please try for a more up to date and informed view of the issues. |

Posted by EVEzJeep Where have I said Russia is our arch enemy which I reserve for such countries as Noth Korea and Iran, and I will stop there. My comment has to do with our president making promises to Russia who cannot be trusted based upon our current relations. We are not in the cold war thanks to changes mitigated by such people as Pope John Paul II, Reagan, and Lech Walesa. I am not going to defend the Ryan plan since I have many disagreements. However Obama steals 1/2 trillion dollars from Medicare which has financial problems to support a program which is not financially viable. He is taking from us who have paid for years and continue to pay in retirement with less income. Even the Ryan plan may do less damage here though as I said it is a program which I have had difficulty. Regarding Romney his own plans do not run the same as the Ryan plan according to his own website. |
