In Response to VP Candidate Paul Ryan Uses An Ohio Homeless Soup Kitchen For A Photo Op.: It's really disgusting as Romney said that there are 47% who are takers, so why is Ryan pretending to care about the "takers" in a soup kitchen? It's especially sickening as he wants to deny people who are on food stamps. Maybe some of those people are dead-beats, on drugs or irresponsible, but there are many families who have hit the bottom because of Bush's recession. It was a lot of nerve of Ryan to just walk in, with his family, and pretend that he had been serving people and learning about their problems. It was a photo-op that should make us wonder why he cares about the poor after applauding Ayn Rand.

intersan, you hit the nail on the head, sure there are some able bodied people taking advantage of welfare, but thats not all our seniors, disabled, Veterans, students and poor children. Romney will take care of his wealthy little community, always has and always will. Response to Re: VP Candidate Paul Ryan Uses An Ohio Homeless Soup Kitchen For A Photo Op. : Posted by mandm84 What voters are failing to realize is that many formerly Middle class people are now going to soup kitchens and food pantries as a result of the Bush recession and outsourcing of good jobs over the last decade. A case in point is my daughter, with a Master's degree, who once went to food pantries when unemployed. In 2005, she lost her job, then tried to make ends meet by taking temp jobs that promised full-time employment, but they never lasted for more than a few months. At one point, she told me that she was going to food pantries and free health clinics for medical care. I was fortunate enough to help her financially for a few years until she moved from Chicago to DC for a government job. She is stable now, married with a 2 year old son, but she has never forgotten what it meant to be without food, health insurance and nearly homeless. It can happen to anyone.

intersan, I'm happy to hear your daughter is doing well, I'm sure youre very proud. My daughter was one of the lucky ones and got a decent job right out of college, but she knows fellow students, who are still looking for full time jobs and they graduated almost 5 yrs ago. The funny thing is that out of all her college friends that she has asked, there isn't one that is voting for Romney.Response to Re: VP Candidate Paul Ryan Uses An Ohio Homeless Soup Kitchen For A Photo Op.: In Response to Re: VP Candidate Paul Ryan Uses An Ohio Homeless Soup Kitchen For A Photo Op. : What voters are failing to realize is that many formerly Middle class people are now going to soup kitchens and food pantries as a result of the Bush recession and outsourcing of good jobs over the last decade.
