On Friday,   President Obama did the right thing for women by rejecting the demands of anti-woman activists to limit access to no-cost birth control.

Extremists who literally oppose any woman having access to contraceptives had lobbied President Obama hard to overturn new health insurance regulations and block access to birth control for millions of women.

If President Obama had caved to the demands of these radical activists, certain employers like religiously affiliated universities and hospitals would have been allowed to prevent their female employees and students from having access to the same health care as every other woman in America.

Fortunately, President Obama sided with the medical community and women's health advocates over these anti-woman extremists.   Fortunately President Obama sided with men who also benefit from women's birth control indirectly.    Fortunately President Obama sided against over-population....we don't have enough jobs now for  college grads who hocked their future finances  for a career.

They were not anti woman, but very strongly pro life. He trounced on religious freedom which is protected very precisely by the constitution. Why did these people work for an organization which was run by a religion that does not accept their demands which go against the teaching of that Church. If a person works for a religious affiliated organization they should not expect to receive something that goes against that Church's belief. Far from radical but they were following their beliefs. This should be overturned on the constittutional grounds which protects religious freedom. His decision is no surprise though since he also supports the crushing of life in the 8th month of pregnancy.  His positionn here is totally immoral. I totally oppose abortion, but may I ask how can anyone support the destruction of life when it is so far advanced?

And Thank you JANMB, for expressing the truth about what our President did. Just like the rest of us, he SHOULD stand up for womens right to choose, just like he stands for ALL Americans rights.

Let us NOT be swayed by so-called christian's who only want to CONTROL women and keep them in their second class place.  Any religious cult like this who mocks Jesus and what he stood for, by  pimping him for their own self-serving idea of THEIR religious freedom, while denying other Americans their Constitutionals freedoms, are proof of what's wrong with our country.

This is why we need to support our President and his policies for ALL Americans, against the so-called christian hatred against those Americans they cannot CONTROL.

however as I understood it, it is not about abortion but contraception,and  I must agree that anti-contraception is anti-women

His position ignores the constitution regarding religious freedom and a recent court decision, the Hosana-Tabor decision regarding Churches hiring practices and internal affairs. He is telling institions to ignore a strong religious belief. Would you rather have many hospitals close their doors or drop insurance for all employees. This president has taken a stance against many and it is not one to support woman but to undermine Church's.

Yes he does. It was a stance he took in Illinois. That should be repugnant to any human being. How a family man like him can support that escapes me.

You are absolutely rignt.  Women have the freedom in this country to have a choice rather than being discriminated against.  As for as abortions are concerned many women will get one either lawfully or unlawfully, in a hospital or with a clothes hanger.  I as a man am not to judge.

So you would drop all laws that are inconvenient for others and make their action dangerous for them? Guess we should drop laws against theft since someone might hurt them. Using a justification for removing laws since they may harm the person breaking them would lead us to drop all laws.

Apparently a person cannot act as a judge unless they are the same as the other person. Only female judges may judge women, and male judges males. We must also limit this to a person's race, religion, ethnicity and age. Seems you have made a situtation where having laws are worthless since we cannot match the judge with the person judged. And even if this were not the case would we need to check the sex of the child before we make the decision so a male can speak for male and the mother for the female, or may nobody defend the defenseless.

These arguments trying to justify abortion are not logical and lead us to absurdities regarding laws.

The constitution does not speak about abortion, and the Roe versus Wade decision was the Supreme Court acting legislatively by writing  a law about abortion using the right to privacy as their justication for this legislation.

From our constitution it does seem to protect our posterity, all descendents.

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
