In Response to Our Tax Dollars at Work: It seems that from the day President Obama took office, he started working on his re-election campaign. Unfortunately he's doing it with taxpayer dollars. How many tens of millions of taxpayer dollars have been spent on transporting the president to various campaign stops in the guise of doing "official business"? It's no wonder he leads from behind. That seems reasonable since the rich who are "NOT" paying taxes are dishing out mega millions to their Republican friends that shelter them. n Response to Re: Our Tax Dollars at Work: In Response to Our Tax Dollars at Work : Posted by creppelrm |

He makes lots of fundraising events (dinner for 9K, etc) - istead of being focused on his duties (but you might probably say it about other presidents too) What i find "funny" is Obama's success story about bailing-out auto-makers. GM was bailed with American taxpayer's money, recovered, and now opened few plants IN CHINA. |

IFor 2009 the top 10% of taxpayers paid 70.47% of the tax collected, while the bottom 50% paid less than 3%. So whose not paying their fair share? This according to the National Taxpayer Union link enclosed:http://ntu.org/tax-basics/who-pays-income-taxes.html . Most of those with incomes >$112,000 own small businesses. These are the very people responsible for job creation. n Response to Re: Our Tax Dollars at Work: That seems reasonable since the rich who are "NOT" paying taxes are dishing out mega millions to their Republican friends that shelter them. n Response to Re: Our Tax Dollars at Work : Posted by creppelrm |

IAstra, I think you'll agree, governnment is just too big. There should not have been any bailout of the auto industry. They should have been allowed to declare bankrupcy and renegotiate their union contracts, just like the airlines did. A lot of things the Fed handles could best be done locally, such as Education, Environment and Housing. Government interference is responsible for most of our problems. I Good stuff Astra. I forwarded the link. I guess nobody is truly free of guilt. I also wonder whether there is hope for us. n Response to Re: Our Tax Dollars at Work: How presidents (starrting with FDR) spend money http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LjGpZfSAfo Posted by Astra2012 |

As I said before Astra, at least he spent money on American companies that were in trouble, not in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan building schools, hospitals, and prisons. If you're going to spend money spend it on Americans. Just where was the responsibility when Reagan had us a deficit or when Bush put us in the recent one. Ron Paul would have certainly done the same as this president if he were in his shoes and that is help Americans or else the country would surely be bankrupt. n Response to Re: Our Tax Dollars at Work: In Response to Re: Our Tax Dollars at Work : ? you make a Rep.-Dem. division here while the question is about RESPONSIBILITY in spending taxpayers money. however, i don't think it's so bad.
