I started a petition on We The People (fwiw) and it needs nearly 5,000 more signatures to be considered by... someone???? It is simple. It asks that all newly elected members of Congress partake in Social Security, instead of their own program. The ONLY way, IMO, to get this fixed is to make Congress feel the pain. If it is their problem, not YOUR problem, it'll get fixed. We can whine all day, but who really cares? Make them part of the problem, and they'll find a solution. Until then, we are just whistling in the wind. Please see https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions#!/petition/social-security-congressional-members/yPjpTxyc  Thanks. john

So disappointed in Mr Toedtmans editorial-Small Steps, Big Dividends 10/11.

We the people are already (1) Counting calories with not enough income as jobs are being sent
elsewhere, as income is insufficient to buy the BEST foods.
                                                (2) Again, not enough income to pay down the debts we have
                                                (3) or buy the best health insurance
                                                (4) or contribute to a fund that's been robbed-SS
                                                (5) or God forbid -contribute to the treasury!
Lets cut the loopholes of the high income taxpayers-- ah, sorry , non- taxpayers!

and........Government should pay what we pay.
