In Response to SENIORS CITIZENS GO HUNGRY IN AMERICA: Posted by JANMB In my community, if we have a rise in demand for the meals and they (income) qualify for the free meals, those in my community kick in more local tax money to meet the need. We look after our own. |

Posted by Astra2012 For this particular type of program, it is kind of stupid to send the money to Washington vias the IRS only to have it sent back to the State and for the State to send it to the locality or community. But see Astra, they have to do it this way cause sometimes those in these communities PAY NOT TAX or a much smaller amount than they need. Then we have to tap the other tax payers in the country so that this community gets their needs. |

i see your point - as my husband also makes it. what about poor districts and counties, when they are in need? But they will be helped on the STATE level! Not the federal agency full of bureaucrats who don't even know much about the region! Churches, fundations reach nationwide! Even private people from other states helped Katrina victims once they realized FEMA wouldn't. ------ here is about aid at home ((of course Ron Paul speaks too, i can't help it--he makes so much sense! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAnykUOEWTk |
