School Yard BulliesMy neighbor recently came over and asked for some advice on how to handle a bully that has been picking on her son at school.  I told her that bullies have been a problem in all societies even the animal world.  I told her in many cases bullies are very insecure and are deep down cowards.   I told her she could go to school and talk to the teachers, she could talk the bully’s parents,   but before all of that sit down and talk to her son and see if there was any sort of way he could handle the bully.  I told her all bullies have certain things in common, they pick on the weak and most vulnerable, they like to call these people names and they like scare tactics.  But sometimes if we are determined enough regardless of our vulnerabilities we can turn the table on these bullies and expose them for what they really are. After she left, I had to sit down to analyze what I just told my neighbor.  After I did I realized I was being bullied.  I was being bullied by Republicans like Paul Ryan who was telling me that Social Security and Medicare were not sustainable and it was unconstitutional (scare tactics)  I am being called names by the Tea Party (socialist, tree hugger, ultra leftwing democrat).  Some bully’s grow out of being a bully but it seems that Mitt Romney hasn’t.  He was a bully in High School and is still a bully.  Some like Paul Ryan were probably not in school but turned after being given a little power.  That’s what power and money does to politicians sometimes.  They become arrogant enough to where there is no limit they would go to quench the unquenchable thirst for money and power. And then there are us, the little people, who will remember us in a hundred years?  People may remember Mitt or Paul. They will remember what they did to this country. But it isn’t really up to Bullies what happens to this country, it’s up to us “the most vulnerable.”

in school I was "bullies' bully"-i hate bullies and in 1-2 grade I was actually fighting with them (all boys!)- then they kept away and I thought I was really beating them up--now i know it took away their power to fight with a girl...

But as a Ron Paul supporter I'm bullied all the time and everywhere - even here! (never by you ).
And not to my face, but i have found other ways to deal with bullies than fighting with them.

I really try not to look down on anyone Astra.  Bullies are insecure and think by belittling others makes them look bigger or smarter.  It actually has the opposite effect.  Arrogance is also a sign of a bully.  As soon as they start with the bragging of how smart, strong or good-looking they are is a sure sign of a bully.  That's why it's not how a person dresses, or how he talks, or how much money he has,  We are all Americans and what happens to one happens to all.  Lately these Republicans sound like they are waging war against their own people.  If you don't fit a certain criteria your a drag on the Republican society.  Our country is too strong to fall from forces outside but we can destroy ourselves from within.  We have a diverse society that is made up of many cultures and races. We better start learning to live with that.  If we ever have to wage total war (which we never had to do)  we will need every resource available to us including gays, women in our military.  Just look at what Russia had to do in World War II.  No nation suffered as bad as the Russians.  They had women who were Ace pilots.  School girls manned anti aircraft guns.  Prisoners, doctors, lawyers all fought side by side.  And we are fighting amongst ourselves mostly because of arrogance and bullies.

Young bullies grow up to be like  New Jersey Governor Chris Christie who  is the embodiment of today's Republican Party and everything it has come to represent.     Y ou name it, Christie's got it:   Disingenuous, smug, nasty?   Check.   Robotic servant of the corporate class, foisting its lobbyists' prefabricated laws on an unsuspecting public? Check. Hostile toward women?   Double-check.

He proves,   his bona fides as a Republican by proving he meets his party's other criterion, which is an absolute contempt toward the ordinary men and women who have been victimized by its policies.      The night before the nation received its latest bad news on unemployment, Christie told a cheering Republican crowd that the nation's jobless were lazy examples of an entitlement mentality.

Needless to say, Chris Christie is now considered a leading Vice Presidential contender.

Another example of bullying is the obama administration refusing to allow ICE agents to cooperate with Arizona public safety officers as retribution for the Supreme Court ruling tat allowed police to ask for proof of citizenship on criminal stops.

How's about some of our fine outstanding American Businesses asking for ID before they hire illigals?  There are already laws about that.  Won't they enforce them? That would be the end of that problem. Even some of our fine lawmakers have hired illigals.    As for drugs, if we wouldn't have such a big demand here in the states Mexico wouldn't be in the supply business now would they?  Don't even think that the poor and destitute are the only ones who take drugs or making money off them here in the States.

Agreed, employers should check the immigration status of potential employees. Cut off the sugar and the ants will stop coming.
