I guess it depends on your insurance company. I've always been under private insurance through my company. Between myself and my wife we've been covered by Oxford, Caremark, Aetna, BC/BS (Empire and Horizon). I've probably left out one or two. I'm currently covered by a Medicare HMO. We've never had any problems with claims and I've had two surgeries and my wife has had many (her health is not the greatest). My only rule is check to make sure all providers are in network and you should be OK. I would imagine though, that some of the smaller insurers may not be as generous. Response to Saving Medicare/Social Security: As a retired Nurse (2011) who has worked in all aspects of the Health Care Field. Including precertifing patients who needed Surgery or medical procedures, or special necessary life saving medications. Private insurance company often denied care. Hello! wake-up . It's about Profit. I had to pay 3/4 of my Healthcare and went to the Dr. once a year, did not smoke/drink, excerise , kept my weight down, when I began to have severe back , had the usual xray and then needed an MRI because I had numbness down both legs. It was denied even though I had not had a medical problem in 15 years.I was listening the news and one of the Republican Senators stated that AARP agreed with their plans.i am appalled by this The word priviatizing may have been scratched and replace with another, the meaning is the same. My 401k was Priviatized in stock market. Well, I don't have that either. I believe we should pratice a healthy lifestyle. Remember you have paid into this system all your working life, for me it was 44 years. I believe everyone should have access to affortable healthcare. No one should be denied because of a preexisting condition, then you start playing GOD, some private Insurance company are already doing this and the Insurance company gets richer. I wonder how many politicians have vested interest in Drug/ Insurance companies. I believe It is something we need to know. It is sad when a blue collar worker has to pay more taxes than a Millionaire, and come retirement time that blue collar worker is paying for the Millionaire again. Posted by cindy3t |
