RESEARCH! ((Orcinus: Ron Paul’s Record in Congress ))

*A Ron Paul administration would continue to proliferate the negative image of the US among other nations. Please see the following links: H.R.3891, H.AMDT.191, H.AMDT.190, H.R.3769, H.R.1665, H.CON.RES.23, and H.R.1154

*Ron Paul discriminates on the basis of sexual orientation and would not provide equal rights and protections to glbt citizens.
H.R.7955

* Ron Paul has an unnatural obsession with guns.
. Please view the following links:
H.R.2424, H.R.1897, H.R.1096, H.R.407, H.R.1147, and H.R.3892.

* Ron Paul would butcher our already sad educational system.
The fact is that Ron Paul wants to privatize everything and that includes education.
H.R.7955?

* Ron Paul is opposed to the separation of church and state.
H.R.7955

* Ron Paul does not value equal rights for minorities. Here are links to these bills: H.R.3863, H.R.5909, H.J.RES.46, and H.J.RES.42.

* Ron Paul would deny women control of their bodies and reproductive rights.
Please see these links:
H.R.2597 and H.R.392

* Ron Paul would be disastrous for the working class.
He supports abolishing the Federal minimum wage, has twice introduced legislation to repeal OSHA, or the Occupational Safety and Health Act and would deal devastating blows to Social Security including repealing the act that makes it mandatory for employees of nonprofits, to make “coverage completely optional for both present and future workers”, and would “freeze benefit levels”. He has also twice sponsored legislation seeking to repeal the Davis-Bacon Act and the Copeland Act which among other things provide that contractors for the federal government must provide the prevailing wage and prohibits corporate “kick backs.” Here are the related legislative links:
H.R.2030, H.R.4604, H.R.736, and H.R.27204.

* Ron Paul’s tax plan is unfair to lower earners and would greatly benefit those with the highest incomes.

it's paranoia...
he would CONTINUE to proliferate neg. image...? Is Obama proliferating neg. image?
I see no connection to it in these bills.

And I do not see why do you consider him discriminating against anyone--i don't think he is able to discriminate against anyone--

He doesn't want to " butcher" education--just Dept.of Edu. -  it's not the same!

here is his bill  -what do you find offensive?

Title I: Education - Abolishes the Department of Education and nullifies all regulations, contracts, licenses, or privileges issued by such Department prior to the effective date of this Act. Directs the Director of the Office of Management and Budget to provide for the orderly termination of the affairs of such Department.

Forbids any court of the United States from requiring the attendance at a particular school of any student because of race, color, creed, or sex.

Prohibits the Secretary of the Treasury from issuing in final form the "Proposed Revenue Procedure on Private Tax-Exempt Schools", which sets forth guidelines for determining whether a private school has forfeited its tax-exempt status by the adoption of racially discriminatory policies.

Amends the Internal Revenue Code to: (1) allow an income tax credit for 100 percent of the amount of tuition paid for the elementary, secondary, or higher education of the taxpayer, spouse, or dependents; (2) allow an income tax deduction for amounts paid into an education savings account established to pay the educational expenses of a dependent child of a taxpayer; and (3) grant tax-exempt status to schools which are controlled by the parents of the children who attend them (parental schools).

Title II: Social Security and Retirement - Amends the Internal Revenue Code to allow individual taxpayers who support an elderly (age 60 or older) dependent a $1,000 income tax credit or a $5,000 income tax deduction.

Repeals provisions of Title II (Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance) of the Social Security Act which require the reduction of benefits under such title if the benefit recipient has regular employment.

Amends the Internal Revenue Code to permit individuals and married couples to claim the income tax deduction for contributions to an individual retirement account even if such individuals or couples are participants in tax qualified pension, profitsharing, or stock bonus plans under the Internal Revenue Code.

Specifies that social security benefits are exempt from taxation.

Treats married individuals who receive no compensation or less compensation than their spouses as having received compensation equal to that of their spouses for purposes of computing the maximum allowable income tax deduction for contributions to an individual retirement account.

Allows an income tax deduction from gross income for the payment of social security taxes by employees and self-employed individuals.

Title III: Constitutional Guarantees - Prohibits the Federal Government from imposing any obligation or conditions upon any child care center, orphanage, foster home, emergency shelter for abused children or spouses, school, juvenile delinquency or drug abuse treatment center or home, or similar program which is operated by a church or religious institution.

Repeals the Selective Service Act of 1967.

Denies jurisdiction to the Supreme Court of the United States to review any State statute or regulation which relates to abortion. Extends such denial of jurisdiction to Federal district courts.

Title V: Domestic Relations - Prohibits Federal preemption of State laws relating to child or spousal abuse, or juvenile delinquency. Prohibits the expenditure of Federal funds for the operation of any programs dealing with such problems.

Defines "child abuse" as physical maltreatment, and psychological or emotional neglect. Excludes from such definition discipline or corporal punishment applied by a responsible parent or an individual authorized to act in the place of such parent.

Grants tax-exempt status to organizations which provide care and treatment for victims of child or spousal abuse and to organizations which care for runaway children.

This is from Ron Paul's offcial Website
PLAN TO RESTORE AMERICA - HE wants this country to be prosperous again, to restore rights to Americans so they will  be envied by all people in the world

SYNOPSIS:

America is the greatest nation in human history. Our respect for individual liberty, free markets, and limited constitutional government produced the strongest, most prosperous country in the world. But, we have drifted far from our founding principles, and America is in crisis. Ron Paul’s “Restore America” plan slams on the brakes and puts America on a return to constitutional government. It is bold but achievable. Through the bully pulpit of the presidency, the power of the Veto, and, most importantly, the united voice of freedom-loving Americans, we can implement fundamental reforms.

DELIVERS A TRUE BALANCED BUDGET IN YEAR THREE OF DR. PAUL’S PRESIDENCY:

Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who doesn’t just talk about balancing the budget, but who has a full plan to get it done.

SPENDING:

Cuts $1 trillion in spending during the first year of Ron Paul’s presidency, eliminating five cabinet departments (Energy, HUD, Commerce, Interior, and Education), abolishing the Transportation Security Administration and returning responsibility for security to private property owners, abolishing corporate subsidies, stopping foreign aid, ending foreign wars, and returning most other spending to 2006 levels.

ENTITLEMENTS:

Honors our promise to our seniors and veterans, while allowing young workers to opt out. Block grants Medicaid and other welfare programs to allow States the flexibility and ingenuity they need to solve their own unique problems without harming those currently relying on the programs.

CUTTING GOVERNMENT WASTE:

Makes a 10% reduction in the federal workforce, slashes Congressional pay and perks, and curbs excessive federal travel. To stand with the American People, President Paul will take a salary of $39,336, approximately equal to the median personal income of the American worker.

TAXES:

Lowers the corporate tax rate to 15%, making America competitive in the global market. Allows American companies to repatriate capital without additional taxation, spurring trillions in new investment. Extends all Bush tax cuts. Abolishes the Death Tax. Ends taxes on personal savings, allowing families to build a nest egg.

REGULATION:

Repeals ObamaCare, Dodd-Frank, and Sarbanes-Oxley. Mandates REINS-style requirements for thorough congressional review and authorization before implementing any new regulations issued by bureaucrats. President Paul will also cancel all onerous regulations previously issued by Executive Order.

MONETARY POLICY:

Conducts a full audit of the Federal Reserve and implements competing currency legislation to
strengthen the dollar and stabilize inflation.

CONCLUSION:

Dr. Paul is the only candidate with a plan to cut spending and truly balance the budget. This is the only plan that will deliver what America needs in these difficult times: Major regulatory relief, large spending cuts, sound monetary policy, and a balanced budget.

This is in response to Washington Post artticle
Why Ron Paul matters more i n this election than Romney or even Obama!

(his congressional bills reflect his attitude- he is very CONSISTENT. ACtually he only changed his attitude about death penalty- he used to be for it but now is against it because poor people are  treated not fair; I still do not see what you find so offensive...)

Ron Paul is the Only Candidate Who Matters in this Election

I have said repeatedly that in terms of actually changing the status quo in American politics, only Ron Paul’s presidential candidacy matters. Here is a Washington Times piece by Tom Mullen from way back in April when Santorum and Gingrich were still running. Mullen makes the same point concerning Paul’s integral relevancy and impact:

Ron Paul matters much more than Newt Gingrich in this year’s Republican nomination race, according to The Washington Post. Both men trail frontrunners Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum by a wide margin in terms of primary victories…

However, the Post article misses the most important point. Ron Paul doesn’t just matter more than Newt Gingrich. He also matters more than Romney, Santorum or even President Obama. Ron Paul has already had a greater impact on America than any U.S. President in generations…

It is apparent that both conservatives and progressives have completely lost touch with reality. Nothing has changed since Obama replaced George W. Bush. Nothing would change if Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum replaced Obama, either.

Americans elected Obama in 2008 to not be George W. Bush. Bush was reviled by voters for what they believed was an unnecessary war in Iraq, for spying on American citizens, for being too cozy with Wall Street, and for assuming executive powers not delegated to him by the Constitution. Obama promised to change all of that.

Four years later, Obama has started at least three new wars while expanding the boondoggle in Afghanistan. He has continued spying on Americans and sought to expand this authority in the courts. He has filled his cabinet with Wall Street insiders and has bested George W. Bush on expanding executive powers…

Nothing changes. Obama is no different than Bush. Neither Romney, Santorum, nor Gingrich would be any different than Obama. They don’t even propose to cut Obama’s spending. The spending “cuts” they propose are actually just reductions in spending increases in future years. In other words, they have no objection to Obama’s spending now. They all admit this, yet their supporters continue in their missionary zeal as if their candidates represent some sort of radical change.

Then there is Ron Paul. He doesn’t just talk about cutting spending. He published his first year budget, cutting $1 trillion dollars. He doesn’t just talk about individual liberty. He wants to end the failed drug war and repeal the Patriot Act. He promises to bring troops home from all over the world and allow young people to opt out of unsustainable entitlement programs. Ron Paul proposes real solutions to real problems, regardless of the political consequences.

Ron Paul is the first presidential candidate in my lifetime to actually use the words “role of government” as if the subject should be debated. He challenges the status quo – the whole, multi-trillion dollar monster in Washington, D.C. that purports to care for 300 million people from cradle to grave and police the entire world. Ron Paul has dared to speak the unspeakable and millions of people all over the world are listening.

That’s why Ron Paul is more important than whoever wins the Republican nomination or the presidency this year. Presidents have come and gone for decades while the federal government has continued to trample our liberties, loot our wealth, and propagate new enemies around the world, regardless of which party has been in power.

Then along came Ron Paul, an overnight sensation thirty-six years in the making. To those who understand what is happening, the presidential election seems almost irrelevant as Paul’s audiences explode into the thousands.

Long after history has deemed Bush, Obama and this year’s winner indistinguishable postage stamps on the road to disaster, it will remember the man who planted new seeds during the election of 2012.

As George Washington once said, “Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth.”

Economists are not backing Paul up....neither is the GOP by the looks of it.    Common sense ----If you cut spending drastically like PAUL suggests,   you're going to worsen the crisis.     If you spend appropriately and you really create jobs that are productive, then you have more income for the government  [from tax revenue].

Not only for issues of  the BIG WORD  "macroeconomics"    should we not cut government spending drastically,    but also in terms of justice and equity.      There's all these unemployed people; it's not their fault that they're unemployed or underemployed.     They've been affected by the behaviour of the very rich and the banks.      And they're paying - terribly.

If you read his [Paul's] writings, he wants to restrict any support to people who are poor or unemployed.    Then you really have incredible poverty and incredible injustice.

On the Austrian school of economics:

"I think that they're really off. This idea that if you leave capitalism alone that it will function efficiently and productively and relatively fairly - it's just totally off. "

Milton Friedman, Nobel prize winner, supported Austrian school of economy and what Ron Paul says!

printing money out of thin air and adding to debt to "cure" economy doesn't make sense
and we pay for it! it's hidden tax = everything gets more expensive!
this must be really bad for seniors on fixed income

ONLY Ron Paul addresses that--the other two candidates  not!

you write that Ron Paul wants to cut unemployment benefits- NOT TRUE!
his proposed cuts are excusively overseas and in the size of his administration

Paul Krugman represents the other school of economics- KEYNESIAN

here is their discussion--and to me only Ron Paul is right!

of course the GOP establishment doesn't back him... they fight him because he is the only one who dares to challenge the status quo as it's not fair to the poor or middle class
