An interesting article
http://www.redstate.com/2012/12/13/the-republicans-have-failed-the-nation/

Quick quote from this article

Over the next couple of years, Barack Obama wants to raise the national debt to $18.9 trillion or so.

John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, and the congressional Republicans want to raise the national debt to $18.4 trillion or so.

Funny thing is, I don't seem to see much difference between Democrats & Republicans, and I do not see anything said about actually cutting spending.

As long as voters in this country continue to place either of these two parties in power, this is never going to end.

"There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution."

One thing I find amazing is Boehner and the Republicans continue to bring up "Closing Loopholes", just as Romney did.
IF they know about these so called "Loopholes", why haven't they already closed them? Could it be that these "Loopholes" are beneficial to the rich, and they will close them only as a last resort?
Romney talked about these "Loopholes" for months. It has been over a month since the election, and yet no one has closed any "Loopholes". The one thing that has become apparent, the Republicans love for the rich continues to be their primary objective. That, will assure them a loss in the 2016 election. Which may be a blessing for us all.

Well, Here is the absolute BIGGEST one - so why do you think nobody is ready to tackle this one.
We'd get more income tax revenues and MORE Medicare and Social Security Payroll taxes.
IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED - after all, these are benefits paid in lieu of wages!

Then they are part of this loophole.  This employee benefit is just as much of their salary as their hourly wages -

The President better get busy cause there are a whole lot of tax increases headed towards those in the middle class.

I sure hope that they fix the AMT  - if not there are gonna be some mighty upset middle class people come April 15, 2013.

Yahoo (AP) 12/16/2012:  Millions face higher taxes real soon without fix

"The biggest tax increase facing individuals for this year is the alternative minimum tax, or AMT. The tax was first enacted in 1969 to ensure that wealthy people can't use tax breaks to avoid paying any federal taxes. The AMT, however, was never adjusted for inflation, so Congress routinely does that to keep it from imposing hefty tax increases on millions of middle-income families.

Congress last adjusted the AMT in 2010, and about 4 million taxpayers paid it 2011. Without a new adjustment for the 2012 tax year, the AMT would reach an additional 28 million taxpayers, increasing their tax bill by an average of $3,700.

The tax would affect individuals making more $33,750 and married couples making more than $45,000, according to the Internal Revenue Service."

Does anyone remember back in 2002 ,when Vice President Cheney was talking to our Treasury Secretary O'Neill and stated " Deficits Dont Matter ". Our Treasury Secretary disagreed and was fired.  Today Republican Speaker Boehner and the Republican's in Congress,  want to blame President Obama for over spending, but do some honest homework and you will see that the Bush Administration spent twice as much in 4 years then President Obama did and much of President Obama's spending was on the Iraq War.
You wont hear this on Faux News.Response to Re: The Republicans Have Failed the Nation:

Nobody is fixing any "loopholes". We have been hearing that myth for months from Romney. This whole thing is, the government wants 800 billion dollars. The fight is, who are they going to take it from.
