In Response to Re: Republican candidates: Seems to be more his opinon than anything else. Steele was also the candidate for another failed 3rd party.I would find his views to be questionable and slanted, Posted by JimR45 Fighting contraception. Stopping domestic violence protections. Extending tax cuts for the wealthy, while hiking taxes on the middle class. Welcoming white supremacists to a conference. The GOP has followed its extremist fringe off the deep end. , leaving the rest of us back in the reality-based world befuddled. It appears that to the GOP, radical fringe issue positions are red meat. . In the last Republican presidential debate in Arizona, the candidates even spent several minutes discussing which of them is least in favor of allowing rape victims to have access to emergency contraception. |

They have taken on religious views instead of thinking of ways to solve our problems or have any ideas at all. Santorum would be our first American POPE and his side kick the American Ayatollah. Posted by JANMB JANMB, well said and so factual! Since I choose to ignore the foam-at-the-mouth rants of Astra2012 and JimR45, I find your facts and truths the only comments worth reading and responding to. Its really sad that America has only ONE political party now and another (Republican Tea-Bagger) that stands for NOTHING and has a stated anti-American plaform that is against everything that makes this country what it is, a Democracy. What is ironic, these righties preach against civil rights, minority rights, voters rights, health-care rights, public education rights, women's rights, etc, while claiming ONLY their freedom of religious rights, versus everybody elses freedom rights. They do this as their right to make government invasive into a women's reproductive right, a students education rights, and even American voter rights. They can only succeed by not allowing any voice but theirs, while sadly making God their evil twin! |

Posted by papabob Much of what you claim are rights are not, but be wary when your leader starts removing parts of the constitution since you no longer have anything in terms of rights. It was the Democrats who attempted to redefine the problem caused by Obama which even Biden cautioned. He is leading you down a slippery slope and will soon be ruling from his throne by helping to bury the Constitution. |

The extremists have indeed focused on WOMEN. Apparently, they hated their mother or sister or wife... ...I don't know what's gets their dander up. They use religion as their excuse and when one presents an outrageous Bill it seems to encourage other's to do the same. We had the teaparty that has dwindled down and mostly replaced by the Republican Taliban. |

It was the Democrats that after the president made his dictate the democrats tried to make it into a woman's issue which was not the challenge being made. I will take my degrees in Sociology against the limited knowledge you apparently have. |

Posted by JANMB My marriage is in its 42nd year and doing fine and I came from a wonderful family which is something Democrats do not understand since in both cases the married couples were man and woman. Why is any bill even necessary since the attempts of the president are unconstitutional which apparently Obama thinks he can ignore so the democrats try to change it into a woman's issue which it is not. Now some Republicans try to raise the question whether the president has any right to declare what an insurance policy should include. The latter is another matter. |
