In 2010 Our Supreme Court voted 5-4 in favor of allowing unlimited contributions to influence OUR candidates. The 5 Justices appointed by Republican Presidents voted in favor of unlimited $$$ to influence the elections and the 4 Justices appointed by Democratic Presidents voted aginst it. These Super PACs are nothing more than a game for millionaires and billionaires to win influence. Meanwhile, citizens are pushed to the sidelines to watch the corruption of our democracy !!! |

Posted by mandm84 Because they want to keep their low or no tax rates, the billionaries like the Koch's and Las Vegas kings have joined forces piling millions of dollars in order to defeat Obama cause the super rich pay a far smaller share of the income they get than the average middle class taxpayer, because of "capital gains" (the kind Mitt Romney and the Koch brothers rake in) over "earned income" (wages and salaries of store clerks, mechanics, and assembly line workers. The Kochs are fighting for more deregulation...have consistently ..pushed for less government regulation even tho they have been charged with releasing tons of cancer-causing benzene into the atmosphere and have had five criminal convictions in the U.S. and Canada The supreme court Republicans can't even tell the difference between a flesh and blood human being and a business entity (corporation) that doesn't exist outside its legal definition. |

IIt works both ways. What about the the all the fundraisers obama's been attending over the past year- some in the guise of official government business. What about the Sarah Jessica parker/ Anna Wintour $40,000/ plate dinner in NY? What about the millions that unions give ($20M to try to recall Scott Walker). i guess that doesn't count because its money extorted from member dues. What about the millions holllywood socialists (where is the HUAC when we need it) give to socialist candidates? I guess it's not OK only when it applies to Republicans.
