In Response to Re: Occupy Wall Street Movement: Income taxes increase that divide into 2 groups of the rich and the poor the rich hire laweyers to find loopholes in the tax law i really agree with Ron Paul that we should cut government wasteful spending so we could not pay i ncome tax at all! Posted by Astra2012 dream on, buddy. taxes you'll always pay; however, having a smaller federal government which means eliminating many agencies which reduce the federal workforce also, is the way to go. the fed has grown into an uncontollable monster that must be brought to its knees but it won't happen unless we all truly want it and that's hard to do in our 2-party system. the demos, by and large, love to spend and they're mostly responsible for the growth of the federal government. BO and his administration spent over $15-trillion in 3 years when the demos controlled congress, house and senate --$15 Trillion! now we're broke but everyone still has their hand out looking for a bailout, a freebie ... something for nothing, like the OWSers. vote out the incumbents who support big or bigger government; vote out the incumbents who love to spend our money; vote out the incumbents who give out foreign aid as though it was their money. pay attention to whom you elect. 69 million mindless morons voted for BO and now our national debt is nearing $20-trillion and he hasn't been around the full 4 years yet. that's what the OWSers should be doing: lobbying against his reelection. |

In Response to Re: Occupy Wall Street Movement: AARP needs to be a much biger voice for seniors. we are tired of the games going on in congress. most of us are tired of being afraid we will lose our benfits that we worked for. verison pays no taxes. they need to step up and pay thier share. a congress person who last one term will recive 5,000 a month. it goes on and on. AARP is our voice but, not lould enough by far. Posted by cliffc781 |

In Response to Re: Occupy Wall Street Movement: unemployment compensation can now be drawn for 2 years and congress may extend it for another year. why? the longer it's extended the less the incentive for people to find employment, unless they used the 24 months to retrain and retool and become more 'employable', otherwise it's a waste of taxpayer money. this country is broke and sustaining extended programs like this only makes it worse for our 'nanny federal government'. where do the states, counties, parishes and municipalities come into play? oh, they're out with their hands out for more federal monies too... and then there are the OWSers crying foul and shrieking about greed and avarice as they denounce america and it's capitalistic ways yet most of them are drawing some kind of federal dollar while they're out there crying for waivers on their student loans and mortgages. if they're 'gonna march, march into DC and lean on the white house and congress but not with your hands out looking for freebies which require more money that we don't have. go cry for the 'change' that the idiot in office promised you and instead spent over $15-trillion in 3 years and didn't create one job for it. the ignorant OWSers are definitely barking up the wrong tree on this one. it's sad but true. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/12/16/hey-percenters-call-this-fair/?intcmp=obnetwork Posted by uechapa There are HUNDREDS of people applying for ONE JOB. OBAMA or any PRESIDENT doesn't create jobs !!!! When I see FOX NEWS as a source I cringe. Senate Republicans and Chamber of Commerce beat back an effort by Democrats to end tax breaks for companies who send jobs offshore only to import products back into the United States. Sept 2010 POLICIES that are created --in congress help to create jobs....corporations who are loyal to this country create jobs. . W hen we see all the poverty, unemployed, diseases and abuses particularly of women and children.....the results we see world-wide is that the rich and power do tend to make themselves richer at the expense of other people . 40% of our citizens work in low-pay service oriented jobs. Their LOW PAY makes you richer in your pockets because products and services are cheaper. After Wall Street financiers precipitated the Great Depression of the 1930s, America put in place corrective structures, including a highly progressive tax system, a strong social safety net, and effective regulation of Wall Street banks and corporations. These structures shifted the locus of economic power from Wall Street financiers to ordinary Americans who worked hard and invested their savings in job-creating businesses that served community needs and built community wealth. |

In Response to Re: Occupy Wall Street Movement: While I am sympathetic to the movements complaint...they remain too unfocused and by doing so harm their cause;whatever it is. In the background I think several successive Congress' have done their best to run America into a 3rd world condition. The old tale of I've got mine and the devil with the rest of you. Posted by ohigasan PRECISELY, the way some thought (only a lot worse) about the WOMEN's SUFFERAGE and right to VOTE the CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT and the PROTESTS to END THE VIETNAM WAR . They SPIT at the women who protested and some were jailed and tortured. Civil Rights---some were beaten and died for the cause. Nam protests were met with violence. I CONCLUDEE that these crown princes of capital use violence at the sharp end ------and people will support the wrong ones but I believe the 99% will prevail. |
