most Americans do not like what's going on in our country. We elect "the lesser of two evils" as the election is mostly for haters who vote for one guy because they hate another. Corporate tv uses propaganda to keep us divided. Occupy Wall Street movement - peaceful protest of American citizens, doesn't bring much (if any) results. What will? some people believe in nullification, right (guarranteed by the 10th amendment) of states to ovrerturn federal law! video about it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwqluxtql3c&feature=g-all-f |

I think the South did that back in the 1860's and tried to secede from the Union and got their butts kicked. Matter of fact I had a great geat relative that fought for the South. In Response to Re: NULLIFICATION: it isn't just the South who petitions Washington.People sign these petitions also from NJ NY and my PA. Federal Government which makes it impossible for American peple to influence policies of our country acts dictatorial and NOT in a way that this country was meant to be (see: constitution). many people believe the system can't be fixed and so it should be left. states stand up to fed. gov. - as their power has been meant to be greater- by nullification. in COand WA marijuana smoking is legal because such was the will of the people in these states. Posted by Astra2012 This page has lots of petitions that are on going. You'll have to browse them a bit, but there are quite a few states with petitions to secede. I don't know that any of them are actually derived from the official government's of the states. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petitions |
