Why not allow citizens to carry tasers and mace?

I, by no means, have any interest or knowledge about guns. However, why not allow normal citizens to carry tasers, stunguns and mace to disable criminals? I've seen people being stunned by these weapo

Why not allow citizens to carry tasers and mace?

I, by no means, have any interest or knowledge about guns. However, why not allow normal citizens to carry tasers, stunguns and mace to disable criminals? I've seen people being stunned by these weapons that disable the person, but doesn't kill them. When an intruder enters a home or tries to car-jack someone, why not have mace to blind them or a stungun to disable them? I recently saw a film, a true story, about a crazy husband who was stalking his wife. He ended up chasing her, then almost stabbed her to death. If she, or someone had a taser, or whatever it's called, this guy could have been stopped. Here in Chicago, innocent people are being held up on subway trains late at night while the other passengers can only look on in fear. If someone had a stungun, the thug or thugs could have been controlled. |

The state of Louisiana recognizes open carry. http://www.laopencarry.org/faq.html What is Open Carry? Open carry is shorthand terminology for "openly carrying a firearm in public", as distinguished from concealed carry, where firearms cannot be seen by the casual observer. The act of publicly carrying a firearm in plain sight. Plain sight is broadly defined as not being hidden from common observation; varies somewhat from state to state. Is it legal to openly carry weapons in Louisiana? Yes, as a general rule- however, certain places and people are restricted by law. As far as I know, we only need a permit for concealed weapons. |
