I suggest that we bill the Politicians for the great Debt they created when giving our money to the banks even though they didn't need it (TO BIG TO FAIL)

I'm not going TO TRY to understand the financial stufff-waste of time.

But I see that (I mean Jim) you totally do not know Ron Paul's policies.

I know that he tried running from LP---but he discovered that you have no chance to be our (?) president unless you belong to Reps' or Dems' camp.
Why this surprises you?

Where does he differ with constitution?

So you like the direction we are taking now? Wars, militery bases overseas are better than taking care of Americans and this country?

you say:"Not having taxes sounds great but then you are left with the country just printing money with no backing"
?????????????? that's what FED.RES. does now-prints trillion of dollars to e.g. bail out banks in Europe!
Ron Paul wants us to return to gold standard to make printing fiat money impossible!

you say "allow us to defend ourselves against those who have reached our shore"

i guess you used metaphor for "defend ourselves ONLY if our national security is endangered.
YES. in my opinion he is  right. What's more my opinion is shared by many toops (voting by campaign contributions)

American people are grossly misinformed about Ron Paul's policiies. He is the only one really caring about American people who are being scared of him by mainstream media.

How can you return to a gold standard when our national debt is more than all of the gold in the world. He seems to be naive in a number of areas, and what he says at first sounds great but where do you go from their. Even a campaign manager of his died because he had no insurance. Ron Paul praised him for his work but I might ask why was he not covered with insurance. Not all of what he claims is supported by the constitution. I have spent time reading from his site, so my opinion is not just based upon the press. I have also watched a number of the debates, and I do not find him inspiring there either.

he is not proposing to return to gold standard overnight but over years
he hopes to balance the budget by then

Which of his policies do you find naive?
foreign  (no pre-emptive strikes, no undeclared wars, closing OVERSEAS military bases===and by bringing troops home strenghtening our defense

or domestic?( shrinking government, cutting its wasteful spending, defending civil liberties as stated in constitution

People die - it's a fact. Even people with insurance. But what has this to do with Ron Paul? He killed his manager?

I mentioned here  earlier about an article by an economist about the income tax saying the US could govern without it, but it would be replaced with inflation. Inflation would be your new tax, and that is a very regressive tax. Having no taxes sounds great but the money has to come from somewhere.
Some of what he is arguing takes us back to a time prior to the 30's when things got much worse than they are now. He tries to lay the blame on the Treasury but the fauly lies with Congress. A statement that he will only sign a bill that has a balanced budget sounds great and is something which we should strive. However a totally absolute statement that only a balanced budget is acceptable ignores emergencies that would arise. That is one reason that I feel those who want to pass an amendment to the constitution which would only allow a balanced budget are fools. Do not get me wrong, we need to balance our budget if we can, but at times we may need to pass that onto another year. I do not mean to imply here that a balanced budget is always in the future, but we need a Congress that knows how to act responsibly.

I know I have said for some time, that I think we should pull our troops back from some locations since many should be able to handle their own country. Seems many times we are just proping up foreign locations with the expenditures of our military. There are some hot sites in the world and we must remain prepared. He does not seem to take that sufficiently into detail.

Everybody talks about shrinking spending but most do not hold up. Two areas should be protected medicare and social security. The government has robbed money from social security to handle part of the national debt which is wrong since that money should have been set aside for what is was meant. People also have paid into Medicare and here I would see 2 solutions. One is to put more controls on how money is spent in the medical field. In my state there has been a building boom where new hospitals have been constructed to replace older ones. I am upset when I look at some of the architecture. I am sorry these are not meant to be resorts, and is a 42 inch television going to improve your health. Unlike Ron Paul I am not opposed to taxes, so I would take the cap off of the medicare tax which would not be shielded from tax loopholes for the very rich. My thinking very simply is that we need to control the budgets, but that means both income and expenditures.

Regarding campaign manager Kent Snyder, why was he not provided insurance coverage. He was a man campaigning and bringing in a lot of money for Ron Paul bid for the presidency in 2008 and they could not give him insurance? Kent is the one who pushed Ron to run. I do not know who would be responsible for insurance, but in a debate was asked a relavant question as to whether a person who did not have insurance. Some in the crowd applauded his comment as to whether he should be lefy to die.
