If Romney is ever elected it will be another Bush letting Cheney be the boss. Ryan will take control and the Tea Party will pull his strings. There's been no doubt with Washington Republicans who the VP would be for a long time now. They have their agenda set for quite a while now and never wavered from it. They are talking Medicare now but will be emboldened once elected and Social Security will soon be in their sights. In Response to MEET PAUL RYAN: Meet Paul Ryan! A joke of sorts has circulated Washington for decades providing 'super-rich' families send their 'super-rich' prodigy to D.C. to get them out of the way so they don't mess up the family business. This 'joke' has been applied to U.S. Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin, 1st District) on more than one occasion from both sides of the aisle for a number of years. Two BILLS passed in 13 years ....well thanks to Paul Ryan, the post office on 1818 Milton Ave. in Janesville, Wis., is now known as "Les Aspin Post Office Building." The other time Ryan saw one of his bills become law was in December 2008, with legislation to change the way arrows (as in bows and arrows) are hit with an excise tax. Specifically, his bill amended the Internal Revenue Code to impose a 39-cent tax per arrow shaft, instead of a 12.4 percent tax on the sales price. The bill also "includes points suitable for use with arrows in the 11 percent excise tax on arrow parts and accessories." Ryan is a co-founder of The House GOP YOUNG GUNS Program, mentering Rich Lott in Ohio...who lost the election after citizens found out he plays 'Nazi Dress Up' in addition to being a sympathizer of sorts to Nazi ideals (with a 20+ years history) 'THE PATH TO PROSPERITY', Ryan's plan to reduce government spending and the national debt by $6.2 Trillion (over the next 10 years) on the backs of senior citizens, the middle class, veterans and the poor. Paul Ryan is a fiscally responsible person. The government should be run the way we run our families (or at least the way responsible people do). Pissing away money on pie in the sky projects, especially those backed by his supporters is no way to run a government. Redefining what work is for welfare recipients is also irresponsible. But i guess the more people that are on the dole the more obama voters there will be. My concern is that we are kicking the can down the road. We'll collect our SS and Medicare, but our children and grandchildren will pay for it. But I guess that's ok with the OWS crowd who think they have everything coming to them from the government. It's sort of deja vu. I remember Al Capp's Little Abner. There was a group called S.W.I.N.E (students wildly indignant about nearly everything) Kind of fits OWS and their supporters to a tee. Well I for one, don't want to see this Great Republic go the way of greece. All those that believe in lazing around and letting the government do everything for them should go to greece, venezuela or some other socialist "paradise" Response to MEET PAUL RYAN: Meet Paul Ryan! Making Medicare and Social Security available for our seniors our children and our childrens children when they are seniors are not sky projects. It would be one of the most Noble deeds we could do. If our society is deteriorating it is the lack of respect Republicans have shown for our own. You are right about one thing we are all family and the way these Republicans are treating our own they sure wouldn't treat their family members. They make sure their family members were educated, health issues taken care of, and their mother and father taken care of when they were sick or invalid. OWS are our own also and what would be the problem if lawmakers sat down and talked to these people and try to work out their problems? Or is that so below them they wouldn't even bother? These same type of people ended U.S. involvement in Vietnam, these same type of people declared independence from Great Britain, not the so called tea party of today. These same type of people overthrew the dictatorship in Egypt, Libya, and attempting the same in Syria. So it would be foolish to say the least to call them names and ignore their grievances. What is also deteriorating our society is the use of foul language the name calling and contempt that is aimed at our President and his family. Never before has a Presidnet have to endure the indignation that Presidnet OBama has to endure. I was part of the military during the Iraq war and didn't agree with Presidnet Bush's invasion of that country but I would have died respecting his decision to do so. "Pie in the sky" refers to his socalled "Green" projects not Medicare and SS. Billions were wasted on things that went belly up. Bush was maligned far more than obama by the left. Paul Ryan as Congressman, voted YES to attack Iraq and YES to Bush Tax Cuts for the wealthy, while at War. The ONLY time in U.S. History that we waged War and Cut Taxes at the same time. You call that Fiscally Responsible ? Putting the Iraq War on OUR credit card at $ 5 Trillion, and letting the wealthy get a tax cut, while at War. What a joke !!! Ryan also voted NO on the " Equal Pay For Women " bill, that must have saved CEO's millions. Just a reminder , during WWII, the Tax Rate for the wealthy was over 90%, thats how Wars are paid for. The Right Wing Republicans want to wage unnecessary Wars and cut our Medicare and Social Security to pay for it. The wealthy can walk away free and clear with their Bush Tax Cuts and the rest of us have to pay the price. Not such a great deal for 98% of Americans. Ryan fiscally responsible, yes to the millionaires and billionaires, like our ( hate filled ) Tea Party and billionaire Koch Brothers. Dont let your hate for Obama distort the facts, my friend.Response to Re: MEET PAUL RYAN: Paul Ryan is a fiscally responsible person. When you talk about waste don't forget the two wars that Cheney and Bush started. When talking about Billions wasted talk about waste spent on projects that are not even in our country. Waste in billions spent that probably went into the hands of the Taliban and insurgents in Iraq. There is money in those places we don't even know what happened to, We just gave it away to corrupt and Puppet Governments. We gave it to Haliburton that had ties with Cheney. And you talk about what President Obama wasted? At least it is not in the hands of the enemy. Yes Jan, IN every case I've seen where there was a natural disaster in the last few years caused by Global Warming such as Tornadoes and Drought in the Midwest, Hurricanes in the South, wild fires in the West. These people affected by these disasters are asking for Federal Aid because they sure can't depend on the Insurance companies that they faithfully paid their premiums to. It's been 7 years after hurricane Katrina and Insurance hasn't paid to rebuild people lives here in Louisiana it's been the Federal Govt. As a matter of fact the Big Insurance companies made record profits after Katrina. Insurance is a racket to make money not help and in these phony institutions the Republicans want us to put our trust.
