In Response to Re: meet the candidate- RON PAUL: In Response to Re: meet the candidate- RON PAUL : You may argue that the media have selected Romney, but it is the electorate who has given him the votes. Unfortunately appearances does play a part for stupid people. Good looks do not make a government run better. I do not think Lincoln looked that great but he is one of the best presidents we have had. Obama ran on CHANGE. People should have asked what CHANGE. For me change is neutral since it does not mean good or bad for it depends on what the change is. Now we face some of OBAMA's CHANGES and I think they stink. Posted by JimR45 yes, people vote, not media, but most people are easily influenced by media. If on tv they say that everyone votes for Romney they want to vote for him too! A friend from another state wrote that tv came to their voting place, but since everyone there was for Ron Paul the tv left without interviewing anyone. Ron Paul has more military donations than all other candidates combined but when they had soldiers on tv those soldiers supported ONLY someone else. Obama promised change and change you have (in your pocket ). (I heard it somewhere) People want and need change but are scared of it. Otherwise they would vote for Ron Paul, who proposes many COMMON SENSE changes, not Romney, who would change notthing! |

From the beginning the media has focused on the front runners, though they had to keep changing since the front runners kept on changing. You will see now that only one candidate will get much coverage since the primary is pretty much over. With proportional assignment of delegates it would be unexpected for anyone to pass Romney. Talking about change that is what our government should be paid since that is about all they are worth. This is one of the most ineffective congresses that i have seen with a president who cannot lead but only divide. |

Unlike Ron Paul I prefer taxes, but one that is less complicated and more fair to the citizenry. Just lowering taxes may cause more problems than it resolves as should be said for increasing taxes. It is like the issue of change, since I cannot comment until I know what they are. |

In Response to Re: meet the candidate- RON PAUL: Ron Paul's popularity grows! about 10 000 people listened to hi m at UCLA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypEAx31LtF0&feature=related Posted by Astra2012 The candidacy is about over, and though some may gain I think the decision has been made and it will not be the first time I have disagreed with the American public such as in 2008. The republicans put up a poor candidate and now we have the abortion president. Ted Kennedy now knows how wrong the president is. |

In Response to Re: meet the candidate- RON PAUL: Some of your points do not work well together like " *he would abolish all income tax and *he would tax all earners at the 10% rate The first is true. However I don't think it is a bad thing. And somewhere here I placed link to video in which economist from wall street J. SAID THAT IT will be good for economy and will mean massive influx of jobs many of the things you mentioned are good, in my opinion! COSMETIC changes proposed by all other candidates, including Obama, will not do this time. Ron Paul proposes cutting overseas spending, and taking care more about this country and Americans. Instead of taking care of the borders Iraq/Iran or afganistan/Pakistan he wants to watch our borders. Instead of pumping taxpayers money into economies of Japan, Germany, Italy ...(130+ countries) he wants to close military baes , end all wars--and really support our troops by bringing them home All social issues should be in jurisdiction of states (as it is now e.g. with death penalty) He really cares about American people! Posted by Astra2012 Ron Paul said he would get rid of all income taxes. If he now changed his mind and decided 10% was more fair to millionaires anyway...then Americans need to recognize that low-- taxes are only are meaningful to the rich. Ron Paul is going back to TEXAS-----but no worry ---another flipflopper is the candidate and god-only knows who the VP candidate will be......it was a doozy the last time around. |
