With elections coming up, there’s no shortage of dialogue here. Whether you're a red state Republican or a blue state Democrat, everyone is welcome — just remember to be civil.
Rick Perry bowed out - we have 4 GOP candidates left. Since he is the only anti-war candidate (including Obama...) I support Ron Paul and I want everybody here to know more about him of course I will

Electability question from the debate:

We had young and handsome presidents and look where it took us.
So maybe now it is time to appreciate someone older and wise?

As he said yesterday on the AZ debate "his oath is to the office, NOT to the party"

and they tell us he is crazy?

corporate media officialy stop covering Ron Paul's campaign

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KdAqnXxkxE

this is just another proof that he is antI-establishment candidate.

THE ONLY ANTI-ESTABLISHMENT CANDIDATE

Why then 99% of American people do not vote for him?

They like undeclared wars? They like if their money are taken from them and spent in other countries?
they like hidden tax= when everything gets more expensive because the value of dollar goes down as Federal Reserve prints more of $$$$$$$?? They like that military can come to them anytime and keep them away without a trial INDEFINITELY?
They like TSA touching them?

No, I don't think so.
I just think that they allowed the establishment (mostly media) to scare them and make them believe they want wars, be poor and have no rights.
And it used to be "land of free and brave".

In Response to Re: meet the candidate- RON PAUL:
Some of your points do not work well together like " *he would abolish all income tax and *he would tax all earners at the 10% rate The first is true. However I don't think it is a bad thing. And somewhere here I placed link to video in which economist from wall street J. SAID THAT IT will be good for economy and will mean massive influx of jobs many of the things you mentioned are good, in my opinion! COSMETIC changes proposed by all other candidates, including Obama, will not do this time. Ron Paul proposes cutting overseas spending, and taking care more about this country and Americans. Instead of taking care of the borders Iraq/Iran or afganistan/Pakistan he wants to watch our borders. Instead of pumping taxpayers money into economies of Japan, Germany, Italy ...(130+ countries) he wants to close military baes , end all wars--and really support our troops by bringing them home All social issues should be in jurisdiction of states (as it is now e.g. with death penalty) He really cares about American people!

Krugman was, is, and will continue to be, correct on this
issue: "Paul is the answer for people who don't understand the
question.""

Paul Krugman is WRONG.
he night be a Nobel winner in economy but is very biased against Paul and unfortunately I have never heard from him unbiased opinion. Zero credentials.

There is another Nobel in economy, - MILTON FRIEDMAN, who supports Ron Paul's economic polisy!

But it doesn't take a Nobel in economy to realize that you cut overseas spending - and instead help people in the USA!
is it hard to understand?

In Response to Re: meet the candidate- RON PAUL:

Thank you JANMB for posting the truths about ol Pa Kettle, er Ron Paul. I have done so myself previously but as you will see, Astra2010, is not in the truth business, only tooting that same old horn that she agrees and identifies totally with Paul;s stance even as anti-everything as it is! I mostly just ignore her remarks after considering the source!

In Response to meet the candidate- RON PAUL : YOU_ALL DECIDE----HOWEVER To get a full handle on how bad Paul's record and positions are, here is a quick rundown of his most offensive positions, those that would be the most damaging to the country. Ron Paul: http://crooksandliars.com/kenneth-quinnell/ron-pauls-racism-isnt-worst-thing Would abolish the income tax Would place the U.S. on the gold standard Would allow citizens to engage in trade using gold and silver instead of currency Would arbitrarily cut government regulations and believes that regulations only hurt businesses Would eliminate the taxation of foreign income Is a global warming denier Says that Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare are unconstitutional Would eliminate antitrust laws Would eliminate the federal minimum wage Would eliminate the Davis-Bacon Act and the Copeland Act Would eliminate the estate and gift taxes Would tax all earners at a 10 percent rate Would eliminate tax credits to individuals who are not corporations Would eliminate the elderly tax credit, child care credit and earned income credit Voted to make it easier to decertify unions Opposes Federal Deposit Insurance Would revert government spending to 2004 levels and freeze it there Opposes raising the debt ceiling for any reason Would allow people to opt out of Social Security Says that widespread bankruptcy is the stimulus the country needs Opposed the auto industry bailouts Favors tort reform Opposes the regulation of tobacco Would protect the 'privacy' of online sexual predators and child pornographers on public wi-fi networks Would prevent federal courts from protecting citizens who have their rights denied Opposed the Motor Voter law Would allow states to ban gay marriage Sponsored the Marriage Protection Act Would repeal affirmative action Would limit the scope of Brown v. Board of Education Says that emergency rooms should be able to turn away undocumented immigrants Opposes the Americans With Disabilities Act Voted anti-choice more than 90 times as a member of Congress Voted to eliminate all international family planning funds Voted for the Stupak amendment banning abortion coverage by private health insurance companies Voted in favor of fetal personhood laws Would eliminate all funding for Planned Parenthood Would ban flag burning Would weaken regulation of dietary supplements Supports a ban on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research Opposes subsidies for prescription drugs for seniors Opposes mandatory vaccinations Would expand offshore oil drilling Would increase mining on federal lands Would weaken the Clean Air Act Would repeal the Soil and Water Conservation Act Would weaken the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Would eliminate departments of Energy, Education, Agriculture, Commerce, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, and Labor Would eliminate the Environmental Protection agency Would eliminate FEMA Would eliminate the Federal Reserve Would eliminate the Occupational Health and Safety Administration Would eliminate AmeriCorps Would eliminate spending to combat AIDS overseas Would eliminate gas taxes Opposes the census gathering demographic data on Americans Opposed the dismantling of U.S. nuclear missile silos Wanted to withdraw the U.S. from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty Wants to claim the Panama Canal as sovereign U.S. territory Opposes the International Criminal Court Would withdraw the U.S. from the U.N. Supports the electoral college and believes that the U.S. is not a democracy Believes that we have no right to health care Would eliminate birthright citizenship Believes that law enforcement can't help people, only armed citizens can prevent violence Would allow the legal sale of unpasteurized milk Believes that groups of people don't have rights, only individuals do Believes that government cannot redistribute wealth in any way Believes in the concept of 'jury nullification', the idea that a jury can judge not only the facts in a case but the justness of the law itself Believes that social welfare should be in the hands of individuals only, not government Anyone that still thinks that a progressive vote for Paul is a legitimate vote under any circumstances doesn't know what the word progressive means. Anyone that thinks that Paul "understands the Constitution" and defends it either hasn't read the Constitution or doesn't know how to read.
