What started a bubbles coming up from under a bayou for weeks erupted into a hole in the swamp swallowing trees and in return belching up oil, diesel and low radio active material. All of the signs that Big Oil is involved. There is a salt dome under this swamp that a company in Texas stores stuff that people who live nearby don't even know was there. Now that this is happening no one seems to know what exactly is in the mixture of muck. It is typical Louisiana politics in play where if Big Oil had anything to do with it no one seems to know who is the blame. And people think that EPA regulations are too rigid. Well Louisiana has sold it's soul to big oil and now we pay the price. The whole community around this sink hole has been being evcuated. The one true thing we know that it is man made. I live a about 45 miles away from this mess. I'll be saying my prayers for you , my friend. We are ALL in this together and WE will get out of this together. It's a shame what we have done to this Earth in the name of profits and greed. We can live without the Exxon Mobils, but we cant live without a healthy environment. I can remember learning about pollution concerns in school back in the 60's. Where I live we have acid rain and polluted lakes and rivers from the factories, but the side of Government that is always RIGHT denies that claim. When a politician even mentions pollution or alternative energy today, he gets stomped on by you know who. Good luck down there in our beautiful south. Thank You Mandm84, We definitely need more people in this country who care for this Earth we call home. God loaned us this Earth and when we leave he expects us to leave it as when we came so the next person can enjoy it's splendor. You are very Welcome Astra, And thank you for your concern. n Response to Re: Louisiana had sinkhole?: see, tightening regulations will not work. Probably they even now prohibit doing what was done there.Big money employs a bunch of lawyers whose job is to legally pollute everything around. (how can they look at themselves in the mirror!?) And if big money wants to be bigger through illegal dumping they will find the way... but it wasn't CEO who did the dumping in LA. It was probably the hard working American who knows which company did this but doesn't want to be unemployed.(or had some "accident" so we would never know...) Anyway, I'm always disgusted with polluters (but never voted for the GREEN PARTY). Thank you creppelrm for explaining. Posted by Astra2012 |
