When it concerns money and wealth patriotism means nothing to the rich 1%. They sure can boast patriotism when it is not their blood being shed or when it's not their dollars being spent on wars because they pay no taxes. There was an article written a while back when the Occupy Movement just started that it frightened some of the 1% to the point that they were devising elaborate security strategies and ways leave the country even by submarine. n Response to KOCH BROS PLEDGE 100 million to beat Obama: In what could only be considered fitting, seems the wealth the Koch brothers used to start the teaparty group with, their father began accumulating in the communist Soviet Union. Seems Fred invented a better process for turning oil into gasoline, but American companies wouldn't buy it. So he had to take his ball and go to Russia to help our enemies by setting up 15 oil refineries. After they had their refineries, Stalin turned on Freddy and he had to leave. He came back to America, still angry at America for being shunned.....he draped himself in the flag and helped found the John Birch Society, a 1950's style 'fear and smear' group of similar to the teaparty. The billionaire Koch brothers represent the dark side of corporate America. Koch Industries' units have stolen oil from federal lands, rigged prices with competitors, paid bribes to win contracts in six countries, sold oil equipment to Iran despite a U.S. ban, been charged with releasing tons of cancer-causing benzene into the atmosphere and have had five criminal convictions in the U.S. and Canada. 1 Meanwhile, brothers Charles and David Koch have relentlessly pushed for less government regulation, pumping millions of dollars from their foundations into right-wing groups like the Heritage Foundation and the Cato Institute . The crony capitalists resort to tricks, loopholes, and hard, cold cash for the POLITICIANS in order to make certain "insiders" prosper. The very idea that a Corporation pays an "income tax", or "business tax", is just B,S. as their entire costs are reflected back into the COST of the products that people purchase. So the very idea that Corporations actually pay those taxes is a scam that has been sold to the common people ever since taxes have been collected from businesses. Buffett said In 2010, he made most of his money through investments, and paid income taxes of just 17.4%. By comparison, the 20 employees in his office -- who derived most of their income from their salaries -- paid taxes at rates ranging from 33% and 41%. So...in essense the ones like Romney---Trump and the other 1% sit on their butts and pay less tax than someone who ACTUALLY works. |
