no, fact do not lie.but you can present them in such way that you can make almost any point. like: Obama gives more food stamps than any other president this is true of course, as the other statement is true: more Americans live below poverty line and more need these food stamps. Anyway I'm not defending Obama's record spending. but Romney proposes no real cuts... hope anyone find this funny: why do I vote for Romney: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrY5-nxPHeA&feature=g-all-lik why do I vote for Obama: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=5QGDJhXznrU |

In Response to It's time to change Government: Speaking of spending, you can point to the Bush Budget, but you can't point to Obama's Budget because for three years there hasn't been one ! Is that what he meant by transparency? "You can't fix deceptive, but you can vote it out." You decide - 4 more years? Posted by gymdandee Marketwatch is reporting that our president has actually been tighter with a buck than any United States president since Dwight D. Eisenhower. Who knew? I enjoy discussing things with you even if sometimes we don't agree. But the SPENDING RECORD I POSTED COMES FROM FORBES which is a capitalist--website. But seniors like myself are concerned for our children who are doing worse economically than we did. For seniors the republican proposal has been to cut back on our SS benefits as we age. Now we know our expenses will be only higher when they are cutting back our income. Medicare will stay the same for seniors but I cannot imagine the premiums for the over 55 if medicare doesn't exist for them....the older one is the more expensive everything is. Do the young people even have an awareness of what will be in store for them if the republicans take over ? |

In Response to Re: It's time to change Government: who is Stench? Romney?i knew only his other "nicknames": robot, plastic man, rich weakling... Ryan is arrogant, and unfortunately not very smart. (i have heard that about Biden too). What has been happening to this country for the last several years (at least) is scary if you have children. people have NO voice and are ignored by BOTH Democratic and Republican establishments. This once prosperous country, pride of all Americans, has been devastated by continuous military conflicts, uncontrolled spending home and overseas (do we need military bases in Italy or Germany? In more than 130 countries? People from Puerto Rico come here only to apply for welfare',millioners have been growing some organic food only to get federal subsidia--YOUR MONEY). Anyway, it can't stay that way much longer, i think. Posted by Astra2012 There is plenty of money in this country but we are finding out what we already suspected is that we don't even KNOW how much money has left this country. Yes, it's the military bases overseas as you pointed out.... and its the upper 1 percent of Americans who are now taking in nearly a quarter of the nation’s income every year. and not paying their fair share of taxes using all those writeoffs. Twenty-Six Major Corporations Paid No Corporate Income Tax for the Last Four Years, despite Making Billions in Profits and individuals and corporations are storing money offshore. The stats aren't out for the folks on welfare due to the job losses and last decade's sour economy but in 2009 ... In general, social welfare programs account for a tiny amount of the national budget says AFDC [the program prior to TANF] & is less than 1% of the federal budget and, on average, no more than 2% of each state's fund. When I goggled social programs.....I learned t he United States spends 16.2% of our GDP on social programs and Canada spends 16.9% on theirs and an even closer comparison, Australia spends 16%. These two countries spend the same amount of their GDP to ensure a comfortable standard of living for their citizens as the United States does. So we aren't spending too much on social benefits.....not when we still have people in tent-cities, homeless shelters and living on unhealthy but cheap food choices and living in hovels |
